Has anyone gained weight before TOM take ages to return after TOM?

Hi,

Reason I ask is, I have been sticking to plan religiously, and sort of near the end of my period now. Put on about 5 lbs 3 days before it began, and I've noticed it come off over the past two days, but extremely slowly.

My period is medium to weak now, so definitely tapering off but today have felt unusually bloated and fat. Though, yesterday I looked as though I had dropped all what I gained...Sort of back of forth. Odd.

Do you think that this feeling will go away, and whatever extra water weight by the time my period is completely over?

I am kind of worried it won't. :(

When I still had cycles, I could track when I was due by the spike in my weight. It was this monthly pattern, this little BLIP in my weight-graph. The overall trend was down, but there was ALWAYS that upswing. (Right up until I had parts removed, and that was no longer relevant.)

Also, if you are injured (swelling) or constipated, you will notice it on the scale.

Just breathe, drink more, and keep going. You're in this for the long-term. I promise -- it'll go away.

That was the norm for me and caused me to give up on diets when my losses of the past month disappeared despite perfect eating. Once I learned it was just water/inflammation weight and kept on plan, I was finally successful. A few days of only ~10g net carbs and a bit more protein would help drop the water weight a bit faster.

Same, highest at Tom and lowest usually just after or so. And agreed, whatever is causing bloat, skip a meal or two followed by strict lchf to cut the water weight. But really, don’t worry about little changes; it’s slow and long but worth it ;)
