i have purple bags under my eyes. I take all my vitamins etc, including vitamin c, which i have heard can help in that department. Any suggestions? Love this forum BTW.

I don't bruise easily. I think i get enough sleep and i eat meat everyday. Do you think I should take an iron pill? thanks

I would just to be on the safe side and if you see no difference after 2 weeks then stop the iron. It may or may not help. I know that I have too. Good luck

purple under eyes

I am quite certain that the purple under your eyes is from being dehydrated. You probably need to be taking in more water. Minimum of 64 oz. each day - MINIMUM. Dark under eye circles are a definite sign of dehydration - try upping your fluid intake (not caffeine) and see if they disappear. My guess is they will! Good luck.

The most common causes for dark circles under the eyes are ... heredity, allergies, dehydration, lack of sleep and possibly anemia.

Heredity and allergies cause the the tiny capillaries in the delicate under-eye area to be inflamed and more pronounced .. they'll be more noticeable because the skin there is so thin.

Lack of sleep, dehydration and anemia may give the appearance of darker under-eye circles because they tend to cause the rest of the face to be paler than usual. So, the circles seem darker in comparison.

Here's some info. from MotherNature.com which may be helpful .. Eyes, Dark Circles.

I get dark circles under my eyes because at times I get anemic another way to tell if you have anemia is to look at the skin under your bottom eye lid. If it is red or dark pink then you are not anemic but if it is a light pink or almost white then you may be anemic. Mine are almost white all the time. :)
