Did not weigh for three days... I am really struggling :(

Weight loss is a mental mindset! I need to keep reminding myself that I need to wrap my mind around success and quit having a defeatist attitude :)

Down a few ounces.
I understand the struggles of finding what works and is sustainable Jeanette. Through years too many to number I have lost weight with low calorie, low fat, and low carb/keto. None I found as a sustainable lifestyle because I was too restrictive and was not able to be consistent once I made it to goal, (or was able to do 2-3 days then go off plan once again). At one time 136 lbs was my goal, a weight that I thought I looked perfect but felt sick at. Now I’m going to move to healthy, not a particular number. Which may sound funny being on a 10 pound challenge, I really believe that being part of a team is important though….and I see our little group as a great team, welcoming all that want to come play and move toward health and happiness.

I’ve learned certain foods are triggers for me, sugar and sugar substitutes definitely are, wheat and most grains give me terrible acid reflux and digestional issues. Nuts and nut flours make me binge and want more and more.

So this time I have chosen whole foods, the best quality I can afford, smaller plates, slowing down, making it pretty, hydrating, adding 15-20 minutes of movement to my days. The weight is coming off slowly, I am totally fine with that. A healthy lifestyle is what I want. It’s been a while since I was in the 190’s, which took a toll on me mentally and physically.

I am here for you, I want you to succeed!

Scotiagirl: Thanks for the pep talk! And also sharing what is working for you.

I am in a place of having to figure out what is going to work for me... Low carb was GREAT, but it was not great for my bloodwork. My cholesterol has been dangerously high ever since I started the low carb journey. I have had to cut out all animal products to get my cholesterol under control. Now it is back in the healthy range-thank God.

It is a good example how weight is not exactly an indicator of health.
There are plenty of unhealthy skinny people :)

I am with you; I want to be healthy-but I also want too not be fat.

I also currently have a broken foot, so I have not been able to get my walking in everyday which has taken a serious toll on my mental health. I am about 2 weeks away from being able to walk on my foot again-YAY!!!! I am hoping when I can actually start doing cardio again, I will start to see a weight loss :)

Anyways... thanks for the encouraging words :)

I saw on TV that Rob Low says he has been on low carb his whole life. Interesting that he can ignore the lunch table that is set out for actors.
it is a mind set like Scotiagirl said. I made a pot of bean soup this week for my family and bought a 'everything' loaf of french bread-smelled so good. But i resisted both and have had a wonderful loss in my weight to prove it.
I might have to make low carb my plan for life too. I will miss the pasta and bread--but must accept that this is the current change in life I must approach.
Power to all of us to stay the course.

It is the 15th -- the month is 1/2 over.
I'm on track with only 2.8 lb to meet my personal month's goal. looks like I'll have some bonus weight loss if I stay on this track.
I skipped dinner last night as we went to friends where I had 6 crackers with nacho dip-so good--and i was satisfied. Sometimes more is just more.

Got back on plan on 1/3, did not weigh myself until 1/9, so this is about the 2 week point. Not thrilled it was only 1.2 lbs., as I ate correctly, lifted 4 days and ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes 5 days, but I know that is the way it goes, and traditionally week 2 and sometimes week 3 are slow losing weeks. Nice thing is next week I will definitely be below 210 ;)
