Hey yall!
School has been quite hectic. Kids start on Monday. Not on plan right now but since I'm moving around more I've been doing okay. I did not weigh today. Tuesdays is church and tomorrow is my dad's birthday dinner. I'll try hard to catch up Thursday or this weekend for sure.
:rheart: yall!

8/20 = 235.6
8/21 = 234.8

YES! I'll take it, down is good! Hope y'all are kicking butt and taking names!

sosumi Wed, Aug-21-19 06:32

Kit – Great job!

CaCO – Yay on the challenge working. Wow, good thing you were able to get your daughter checked out at the clinic! Hopefully, she will feel much better already.

Ang – good to see you here! Moving more is good, does that mean your foot is doing a bit better?

CaCO thanks so much for suggesting this challenge. I am much more focused. Yesterday I ate some of those veggie made broccoli fries, net carbs of 18 for 2 servings for a total of 29 carbs for the day. Why are there carbs in my kielbasa? Another good day! The scale is not moving yet, but it will!

Tonight and tomorrow night I’m going to dinner at friend’s homes. I have two groups I play Bunco with and unfortunately they seem to always fall in the same week each month. I’m still committed to the challenge though. Hoping it keeps me focused.

kitsens Wed, Aug-21-19 09:40

I went 24 carbs over yesterday. I still think I did great considering the circumstances. Does that mean I lost the challenge already? Don’t worry I’m still not quitting though.

Nope! It just means you need to be more mindful today.

This challenge is really focusing me too guys. I just keep telling myself that if I really want something it will be there in 7 days, 4 days now, LOL! This is all about curbing those impulse munchies. Yes, it's easier to munch on the carb items but is it really worth my pant size??? Um, NO! And I'm perilously close to needing a new pant size. :help: :bash:

I did pretty well at Bunco except the food was very carby. The only thing I could eat was a chicken enchilada and I chose to have a small portion of dessert. Couldn’t handle it. I was hungry when I got home and ate more carbs. I tracked everything but I was way over my limit. Hoping it was a lesson learned for tonight.

Sosumi - Bunco is an easy, social dice game. It’s usually played with a group of 12 women at 3 tables of four. You play 12 to 18 rounds and each round two people rotate to a different table. In the two groups I play with each woman hosts at their home one time each year and provides dinner, drinks, dessert and table snacks which is usually a little bowl of candy or nuts at each table. It’s really just a good way to get together and socialize with a bunch of ladies. I don’t really have any close friends (or family) nearby to do things with, so these get togethers are essential to keep me from feeling like a total loner (especially since I work from home).

Great job ladies on sticking to challenge. Keep up the good work!

Wow, cool, a whoosh! I had an amazing dinner! I was worried because my daughter and I were stuck eating at burger/hotdog/milkshake joint and I was like holy crud what the goodness could I possibly eat here? Well It turned out that they knew about Low Carb and they served their double burger patty with mushrooms and green peppers and sautéed onions in a bowl… It was so yummy!

Working from home today, good luck you losers!

sosumi Fri, Aug-23-19 05:12

Kit - thanks for explaining bunco. sounds like that would keep you busy!

CaCO - how cool, burger in a bowl!

I had a good day yesterday, and the scale moved again today! Fasting today for some blood work later this afternoon, just routine testing.

Have a good day!

Alright ladies! Great job on the weigh-ins.

I wasn’t POP last night but I did do much better than the night before. The good news is I won’t have those temptations for another two months. Next month I’m hosting both Buncos and you can bet it will definitely be low carb! Back to the challenge grindstone today!!

CaCO3Girl Fri, Aug-23-19 15:21

Crap, I went off the rails.

7am car wouldn’t shift out of second gear, okay, no problem I was going to work from home anyway, but I couldn’t pick up breakfast for my daughter. Strike one.

11am, overhear my mom on speaker phone, a lady was saying “hold on ma’am this sounds serious I’m going to page your doctor and get him on the line”...mom was directed to the ER due to a wet cough for days and her O2 level was mid 80’s WHILE on her oxygen. And it’s apparently been like this for several DAYS! Mom leaves for ER, she won’t let me come with her. Strike 2!

3pm, my estranged son, whom I love very much, is starting school on Monday. I’ve kept him out of school due to his temper but his aunts house where he has been staying has a program for kids like him where it’s minimal student contact and his therapists think that type of program would be okay; he was so happy to see me, I was happy to see him, we went through his clothes and picked several bags of stuff for him to take to his aunts house...it was like he was really moving out, I had some tears....strike three!

4pm Mom, do you think we could get pizza from that place I love so much while I’m here???? And THAT’s the low carb ball game for today! I’M OUT ....Yes son, I’d be happy to get your favorite pizza.

I’ll be back on the challenge tomorrow hopefully...but I just didn’t have the self control today.
