Back to the gym today

66 minutes; 3.5 miles; 462 calories

Yesterday I went salt marsh planting. For a description see my journal entry. In short, walking through the marsh is quite a workout and hazardous to one's shoes.

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaack! Last night was gym night!

35 minutes (including cooldown); 1.77 miles; 232 cal

It wasn't as long or as far as I'd have liked, buuttt ... the cut (I got from salt marsh planting) on my foot was hurting and my knee was twinging so I figured I'd take it easy.

Btw - in addition to tv, I have a new incentive for the gym. The guy at the front desk in the evenings is a HOTTIE!!!!!!

Gypsybyrd Tue, Oct-02-07 20:14

Guess what!!!!!!!?????? 3 days in a row at the gym!

65 minutes; 3.44 miles; 448 calories

It felt good ... really good. I walked through the burn. I got in about 10 minutes at 3.5 mph. It seems like I'm starting over for speed. Oh well. I did the interval training - speed up and slow down. I wanted to stay another hour. But I had things to do at home.

My goal is to get up earlier in the mornings and start the pilates DVDs. I realized last night I'm going to need to get a mat or something firmly padded for the house - it's got hardwood or tile floors throughout the house. Not conducive to laying on and exercising.

Gypsybyrd Wed, Oct-03-07 21:21

4 days in a row!!!!! I almost didn't go tonight - got up watching TV online.

Anyway tonight's stats:

60 minutes; 3.35 miles; 431 cal
65 minutes; 3.58 miles; 462 cal
5 minutes; .20 miles; 5 cal (I had to finish watching CSI NY and the treadmill only lets you go 60 min + 5 cool down so I had to start over :D )

For a total of 3.78 miles!

Gypsybyrd Thu, Oct-04-07 21:49

I didn't make it to the gym tonight (headache - bad) but I did get a workout in. I tried the Windsor Pilates DVDs (Upper Body Sculpting and Bun & Thigh Sculpting). Not sure I like them.

I couldn't do about half the Upper Body one. The B&T one - I did most of it. Whether I did it correctly is anybody's guess. It's not like I had an instructor there correcting bad posture.

But I got in 30 minutes of exercise today.

Gypsybyrd Sat, Oct-06-07 08:08

Ooops I tried to go to the gym last night but got there just as it was closing. Silly me!

I made it this morning though!

65 minutes; 3.61 miles; 456 calories (include 5 min cooldown)

My second mile was (I think) the fastest I've walked a mile in a loooooooooong time: 15:52. And this morning's walk was my best mileage in 65 minutes since starting this exercise stuff in the beginning of September. :cheer:

I'm off now - time to go boating, if we're still going.

Gypsybyrd Sun, Oct-07-07 16:40

Well, boating was good yesterday. In brief, we got to the island, I lounged in the water, played Frisbee for about 90 minutes, threw the football around (I expect my left arm will be sore tomorrow) ... cooked out.

Today, I went to the gym. Stats:

66 minutes; 3.83 miles; 477 calories

The last full mile I did in 15:40 - a personal best since high school I think. :cheer:

I logged several minutes at 4 mph today! And was sweatin' and breathin' hard at that pace. But I did super well and consistent at 3.7 mph. So I'm improving. :cheer:

Gypsybyrd Mon, Oct-08-07 21:21

Well, I almost didn't go to the gym tonight. I was sooooo freaking tired all day. But I went ...AND I put in extra time.

93 minutes; 5 miles; 636 calories

Tomorrow is group exercise - walking one of the bridges to Tampa (The Friendship Trail aka Old Gandy Bridge). It's 2.7 miles each way with a hump in the middle.

Gypsybyrd Tue, Oct-09-07 18:30

I didn't go to the gym BUT I did get in a work out. I met up with a fitness group - and we walked/bladed/biked the bridge from St. Pete to Tampa. The bridge is 2.7 miles each way and crosses Tampa Bay. It's a great walk!

95 minutes; 5.40 miles

I even jogged a bit - yes *I* jogged a bit. I didn't have a watch or timer so I counted steps. The first jog was 50 steps, then 60, then 70, then 80, then 100. Then I walked the rest.

Did I mention - at mile 2.1 there is a hump in the bridge so boats can pass underneath? The hump is .6 miles base to base.

Gypsybyrd Thu, Oct-11-07 20:20

Back in the gym tonight. Stats:

65 minutes; 3.65 miles; 460 calories (this include the cooldown)

Gypsybyrd Sun, Oct-14-07 16:46

Got in 1.75 miles today ... no time or calories though.

Gypsybyrd Tue, Oct-16-07 21:13

60 minutes; 3.26 miles; 415 calories

Gypsybyrd Sat, Oct-20-07 18:06

Rock wall climbing on 10.17

Gypsybyrd Sat, Oct-20-07 18:09

Back to the gym today

60 minutes; 3.26 miles; 414 calories
65 minutes; 3.71 miles; 441 calories - with cooldown.

Man, my abs hurt ... I'm guessing from the rock wall climbing.
