It's too high in carbs for induction.

Atkins induction food list:
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...82&page=1&pp=15

You need to start your own journal Barbie so you will have all of the tips in one place and we can post other things to you there.

Not on the basic Atkins Induction plan, on sticky above and linked here: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=236482, definitely not on Dr. Westman or Dr. Bernstein. It has a lot of milk sugars. It may be included at later "phases" for folks who do are not insulin resistant: but not for you, at least not now.

OK click on this link below.
When you go there, look up on the left side toward the top Green button where it says: new thread.(click on that)
Then....
Make up a name for your journal and then click to post at the bottom of page.
That should do it!

So I just journal my foods and what I eat and such? I think I will start doing this because I am going the wrong way on the scale...

Thank you Janet! I will read those inspirational pages. I love reading them! Right now I am finding that my BG numbers are coming down to normal range and I am feeling better (No sleeping all day) and I am actually wanting to do things instead of just sitting or laying around...

So I am going to quit obsessing on the scales and start realizing how much better I'm feeling. I am happy I have found this forum and everyone on here!

This is fantastic news...as your body is switching over from a sugar-burner to a fat-burner (the fat from your body) most people feel a surge of energy and a reduction of hunger. You can go without snacking between meals as your blood glucose remains low. It does not spike then crash after eating something sugary. And many people also feel that elevation in Mood. Your brain is happier running on fat.

You should phone your doctor's office with a few days of your new normal BG numbers...ask if you should lower or drop the Actos. The main danger of too low BG is with folks who use insulin, but if you dont need it as you are lowering your BG through diet, she may suggest you test without it. Work with your doctor on diabetes oral meds and also the BP meds.

As I recall, in his original book, Dr. Atkins says a lot of people add in cottage cheese as the first food when they leave induction and start climbing the ladder. So it's level 2, not induction. Sour cream and heavy cream in small amounts is allowed in induction.

To me, cottage cheese reminds me too much of low fat punishment diets. Rabbit food, rice (cardboard)cakes , fat free fake cheese.

Why even think of eating that way when you can have bacon, sausage and eggs or a nice juicy piece of meat with veggies in butter?
That's why I love this WOE and why it works for me, because the food is so Good!

I have to stay away from dairy because it catches up with me if I eat too much of it, but full-fat cottage cheese is delicious with melon and berries (of course this is once you're out of induction). I used to like to mix it in with sour cream. They go good together!

It is the naturally occurring fat in meat, fish, eggs, avocado, oil and butter that keep us grounded and satiated, though. 'Tis true! That's the foundation of low carb.

What got us into this shape, literally, is sugar and carbs. So as I told my DH the other day, fruit is sugar. It's a slippery slope and it's sneaky. First a little then a little more and than the carb monster takes over...again!

Not the best induction food--but I've mixed grated cheddar with heavy cream. Tastes very much like four percent creamed cottage cheese, at least to me.
