Default If you were stuck up a mountain.

If you were stuck up a mountain or on a train or some such thing, and you were very hungry with only pastries available in the gift shop, would you eat them or would you glug down some olive oil that you had bought before your journey?... Seriously would olive oil be a valid meal ?

It wouldn't be a valid meal, but it might be a valid appetite suppressant until you could get to a meal.

I find sometimes just a coffee will do, if I need to put a meal off for a bit.

OO for me, yeah. Fat adapted means never having to compromise, or say you're sorry.

I've been at conferences with pastries galore and just snacked on the butter that most of the pastry-gorgers avoided (due to the high fat) plus some coffee. And this was even before I found the "Buttersnackers" thread on this website. There is something very decadent about letting butter slowly melt in your mouth while listening to a boring speech. I find myself smiling to myself.

The farther I get into low carb years the more likely I am to chose the oil or just deal with being hungry until I can get clean food

haha I would definitely drink that to suppress my appetite so I could have the strength to forage for a meal. I try not to put my meals off and try to eat on a schedule as close as I can maintain.

If I was stuck up a mountain... I would use the olive oil to light my fire, and try to save the pastries, but I know I would eat them all! ha ha. Then look for water to drink, and find a tree to build a shelter for the night to stay warm.

I love, love my whipping cream w/o any sugar in my morning coffee. A must!

Kinda like baked turnovers topped with butter that you put in the oven.

Yeah. Fat adapted means eating more fat! gettin' thinner by the minute. It take a few months to get fat adapted. The difference between being fat adapted vs being in ketosis are different. But I don't quite know the difference. Anyone here?
