Sweet! Are you stationary with and on boards to catch or are you moving and dragging hand along boards for reference/comfort? I can imagine if I tried to do that one side would feel better to catch than the other but I know I don't have the flexibility to try just yet

Nice progression!

I am moving, slowly, but moving. Pretty close to the boards. My right hand is skimming the ledge while my left hand is grabbing the blade of my left foot. I have a vid that C took last night, but have no clue how to post it.

Hey, thanks for the response Renee. Kind of how I imagined to ease into it. Can't imagine tho trying to catch a heel blind.

Skate On!

If you know the standing quad stretch...well, you start in that position and lean over & pull everything up at the same time.

It got cut shorter than normal. I got a call and had to leave the gym. It was short, but I did it.

I did an extra long functional workout which was probably a mistake since I am going to skate tonight and get my new workout from trainer Dan tomorrow. I just felt so good that I kept going.

My second time through Trainer Dan’s workout. I did this on Friday, but didn’t record it. This is a tough one as there is not supposed to be any rest between exercises. Only at the bottom (after the row) and after the first run through the circuit.

Bear Crawl x 8
KB Swings (26lbs) x 12
KB squat pulls (26 lbs) x 12
Single leg lateral hops x 30 secs
Hill Walk treadmill x 2 mins - 1.5 at 3.5 mph, 0.5 at 4 mph
DB (12 lbs) clean & jerks x 12
Squat hops x 30 secs
500 M row (machine about 3 mins)
Squat hops x 30 secs
DB (12lbs) clean and jerks x 12
Hill Walk x 2 mins
Single leg lateral hops x 30 secs
KB squat pulls x 12
KB swings x12
Bear Crawls x 8

Repeat x 2

Notes: This workout felt killer. I was breathing hard through most of it. I was super sweaty when I was done.

"Hill Walk treadmill x 2 mins - 1.5 at 3.5 mph, 0.5 at 4 mph"

is 1.5 and .5 incline and decline - don't understand this, have not used treadmill in ages. I figure "hill" means that the track is at an angle.

burnin' work out. makes me want to take a nap reading it

1.5 mins = 90 secs, 0.5 mins = 30 secs Incline was set at 8 so like going up a steep hill.

Sorry if that was confusing. Must’ve been too tired from my work out for typing correctly.

I forgot my watch for Tuesday’s work out. It was a long one 90 mins. Did a lot of functional skating exercises. Burned through just about every one I could think of. Also did a couple dry land walk throughs of the inside spiral pattern since I struggle shifting my weight etc on ice.

Today’s workout
Time: 57 mins - 5 min warm up, 25 min strength & cardio, 27 mins stretching
Active calories: 440
Total calories: 536
Average Heart Rate: 136 bpm
Range: 75-177 bpm

Third time through Trainer Dan’s workout. I could only get through one circuit. I think it was a combo doing an extra long workout yesterday day, killer workout the day before, and a mentally exhausting therapy session yesterday afternoon...plus the knowledge that I am going to train with Dan tomorrow instead of Friday.

Spent an extra long time stretching and that felt good.
