This one is more like what I am trying to practice but without the resistance bands https://youtu.be/-PcElr7qT3Q

This is the new kind I got. More like actual skating because you can rock back and forth like on a blade and travel https://youtu.be/2u77hf2f75I

Dayum, dayum, dayum! that looks like an awesome training tool - and kind of scary. thanks for taking the time and sharing Renee

It is tougher than actual spinning on ice...but excellent training.

Forgot my Apple Watch this morning so no times, calories, or heart rate. I was there roughly an hour from start to finish. I went rather quickly as I had an appointment shortly after that I needed to get ready for.

Third time through Trainer Dan’s workout.

Notes: Ropes are still tough but the rest of it seemed easier.

I was happy to see that you started a gym log. Subscribing. I plan on being a gym rat on into next year. Seeing how hard you work should do me some good. Show me how it is done. A little inspiration always helps.

That’s great to hear. I do think strength training is important. According to Dr.L, we lose about 25% of our muscle after weight loss. I also notice improvements with the extra skin when I strength train regularly.

What I lack in talent I make up for in hard work.

3/5 of us there tonight. We got the first lesson. I was the only out there so got 10 mins private. Basically I sucked at all the jumps I tried. Spent most of the rest of the lesson time worked on my backspin. Could do decent ones when coach wasn’t watching. They were crappy when she was looking.

Got a little distracted chatting right after the lesson. Then gave up on jumps and started spinning. Did mostly sit spins and camels. Sits were fast with lots of revs, but not quite low enough. Camel spin is getting better and stronger. My best today was 4.5 revs. 4 is passing. Most were 3-3.5. I am strong enough to hang on for an extra half revs when the spin really slows dow.

First time with Trainer Dan’s new workout 10 x 10

10 cardio sprints (elliptical) 90 sec each alternating with one of the following 10 exercises to muscle burn out

Bicep curls
Chest press
Leg press
Triceps rope
Leg extensions
Seated row
Prone leg curl
Shoulder press
Lat pull downs
Pull up assist

Notes: Pretty much felt like jelly after this workout. I thought he was going to have shovel me up and deposit me in my car.

Also got to talking to another gal that does some bad ass workouts. She’s been coming for the last 3-4 weeks and I haven’t really had much time to say more than hi or how’s it going? Had the mutual admiration society going between us. Pretty cool.

Second time doing Trainer Dan’s workout. See #24.

Did Trainer Dan’s workout for the third time. See #24 for details.

Notes: I had the elliptical set to 7. Tried to keep the 60 secs of intense training up at 74%. Not much rest between 10’s. Kept cranking it out. Then took my time stretching it out.

Did a workout similar to #26, but much more abbreviated. Less spinning and no position work. The last 15 mins I had the gym all to myself (got there later than normal due to an appointment). I spent the last 3 mins of stretching in corpse pose, just enjoy the calm, quiet, and aloneness.

50 mins cuz I ran into my old coach as I was going in and we spent some time catching up.

Mostly dinking around tonight. No jumping. Spins were spot on. Super centered and fast. Maybe all that time on the spinner is paying off. Did a bunch of hydro blades...both ways. My clockwise circle is lower, but I can touch the ice on my counterclockwise one. Also holding my Ina Bauer about a foot longer.

My big excitement was starting to work on my catch spiral - example here http://www2.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/...bXOuINekt1x.jpg

I have been stretching this out after every gym work out. Today I started practicing them on ice. I was using the boards as my training wheels but I was actually able to get my foot up pretty high over my head. I will have to keep working on it to feel confident in moving away from the boards, skating faster, and holding it longer. I am still pretty darn pleased.

"My big excitement was starting to work on my catch spiral"

Sweet! Are you stationary with and on boards to catch or are you moving and dragging hand along boards for reference/comfort? I can imagine if I tried to do that one side would feel better to catch than the other but I know I don't have the flexibility to try just yet

Nice progression!
