assuming that the bacon has no carms from the cure and your drum stick had no marinade and the steak no sauce then your carbs are 15. So should be good.

I do have some questions.

Do you have the keto sticks?

would you be willing to eat cream cheese as a meal?

Looks good to me, similar to the type and amount of food I eat I'd say (although I eat more vegetables I think). Keep doing it.

Now I have 2 questions for you; 1) how do you cook your okara, I have access to fresh and want to try it and 2) how do you feel today? I hope you feel good.

Keep going!

Default Hi Thud!

Well, I saw a recipe on this board for cooking okra and can't find it again, so I just decided to try something myself. You can do this either as a whole pod or cut up. I haven't tried the pods yet, cause I had frozen. No garden this past year, so I didn't have fresh.

I just put some oil in a pan either canola or olive, either one works, you could use butter or bacon grease too though and then when its nice and hot, put the okra in there. Make sure its good and dry, cause the water in it will cause all kinds of splatters. Then just fry it till it looks like you would like to eat it! LOL

I let it go too long the other night and it was a little bitter, but last night, perfect. It wasn't real brown, but it was still firm and not slimy.

As far as the day goes, well, no weight loss and I'm just feeling disappointment and depression. Can't lose for trying and can't get ahead with this. I'm needing to take pounds off so badly because of the pain I'm in, but just doesn't seem like its ever going to happen.

How did you do and how are you feeling?

Here's today's starting menu:

1 wake up mug of coffee

Breakfast
3 strips of bacon (ran out)
2 eggs
1 mug of coffee

Headed out for chores and will start my water when I get back in.

Lunch
About 7 ounces of ribeye
Left over Okra

I'm on my second bottle of water. A little slow on this today, but I'll catch up later.

dunroven - a question - do you drink your coffee black? If not, what, exactly, do you add?
And good point on the ketosticks - I use them almost every morning to keep me motivated to stay in ketosis!!

Default Ketosis

I have never used them but right at the first 15 years ago. They never turned the colors they are supposed to so I gave them up. I go solely based on the scales. Sorry Tracey, I missed the question about coffee. Yes, I drink it black. once in a great while I'll add a little HWC and a couple of packets of sweetner, but that's not often at all and usually when I feel I need a dessert and can't do without it.

Dunroven, if you have insulin resistance, you may have to go to zero carbs and limited calories for a while to get you into ketosis. I've mentioned Dr. Atkins Fat Fast and Modified Fat Fast in a different thread. It's in his book, which I believe you mentioned you have.

Default Day 3

Start: 114.1 Kg
Today: 114.5 Kg

The trend is not always down on the scale but I trust that something good is happening inside of my body. I will continue based on hope born born from pervious experience.

I'll keep posting here since it looks like you can edit your posts for over 12 hours, that should be long enough to add foods as we go.

1) Left over lamb fat, chicken thigh w skin, tbsp cream, tsp curry paste, 100g jalapeno peppers, vinegar, seasoning, 100g lettuce. I know you hate lettuce but here's a way I can use it that's different than a salad... (i'm on the lookout for some okra this weekend!)

2) 5oz pork w fat, 130g shredded cabbage, red curry paste, vinegar, 25g tomato, 1oz cheddar cheese while cooking for the cook.

3) 80g shrimp, chicken thigh, 200g assorted peppers, red curry paste, chili paste, vinegar, spices,

Default Yum!

That looks great! I like taco sorts of salads but Thud I have been doing some reading again. That's when I'm the most dangerous! Lol

Anyway I found a post for the 196
72 Atkins diet which is what I originally started on. I'm stocking up on those foods today. It is VERY strict and near zero carbs. I'm going to get back on that and see if I can make it happen. I have more to post but may not be back on here till tomorrow due to today's extremely heavy work load. I'm also on my phone right now. I don't do well typing on here. Anyway go under challenges etc to find that induction list. I'll be starting it and some IFs tomorrow. Best of luck today!

that will be good to use as structure. It the Atkins way, as I understand it, they start out low carb, counting all carbs (fiber and sugars) and work back in low glycemic type foods very slowly to see if something isn't agreeing with you.

Good luck, keep reading, keep practicing! ps, I'll not post any more pictures of vegetables for now except my lunch above.
