Habit: Daily meditation
Restarts: 1

Day 3: 15 minutes
Last night was the first time in a while that I've had glimmers of the intensely "clear" feeling after meditation that I love so much -- possibly a function of the amount of time. I've found that 25-30 minutes is my happy place, historically. I'm not quite there yet. (I could probably force it, but I don't want to do that.)

I also had a thought dance across my mind afterwards that was a reminder of something I based a lot of yoga teachings on in the past. I'll be meditating on that again later. (Haha.)

Yesterday was a fail. I feel rather selfconscious disappearing to my room during the day (sharing a holiday cottage with friends) and fell into bed very tired last night. Too late today but tomorrow I may say I am going for a short nap.

Hard to keep habits up on holidays with other people - the nap idea sounds good, time for yourself is not unreasonable!

Day 6: awareness of hunger VS interest between meals.

Ate breakfast a bit later, because Sunday and caught up a bit on sleep.

So it was pretty easy to wait till 6:40 for dinner.

YAY. No decisions to make, just being sure to drink plenty of water as I worked outside today.

Great idea for a thread, Thud. And probably a good idea for me. It seems I've fallen out of the habit of exercise, and this seems a good way to remind me.

My goal is to exercise 5 days a week. Exercise will consist of: 1 hr pilates OR 45 minute weight machines + free weights OR 45 minute walk OR 3 hrs of gardening/weeding (or a combo of the various types).

Today I walked 3 miles in 50 minutes.

My 90 day "no snacking between meals" habit I'm developing.

Day 7: Complete
Restarts: 1

Comments:

No temptations. Odd thing last night. I had a giant omelette with "holiday sauce" on it yesterday for bfast. I figured that would be the meal of the day. After getting my ass whoopped (self induced) paddle boarding all day yesterday I got home late and thought, "I should really have some protein - my body has been broken down a lot today" So I ate some even though I wasn't hungry. I think that's a first for me that I can remember. I had a small meal. I was using food as medicine rather than pleasure. I'm not sure if it helped out not because I was in extreem pain for most of the night, literally crying out trying to move around. I downed some asprin and it must have helped. I didn't think I was going to be able to go into work today or type. I'm doing the later and will give the former a go.

Busy day so I only got the morning ones in. I am trying to set myself up for success by doing some second thing in the morning. It's a good plan so far.

Default Day 7 June 12th Done

Goals:
Water 100oz, Steps 10k

Actual:
Water: 1,000,001 ounces (okay joking but easily made 150 oz)
Steps: 16,529

Interesting ponderings today. I'm drinking a lot of water, and minimizing the other things I drink. However, I do notice that I'm retaining more water (ankles, face, hands) than I normally do. On the other hand, it's been consistently with highs in the 90s here for the last 5-6 days and is looking to continue for awhile. I'm under the understanding that the hotter weather causes to retain more fluid, but was also under the understanding that drinking more water will help the body "feel" like it's getting "enough" water and will thereby "let go" of it. Not sure I've hit that point, or maybe with the hot weather it's just not going to....
