They are pretty much completely fiber. So a full bag of them, even though it doesn't look like much, is really a lot for your digestive system to process.

I use a bag for two people, and that's enough with a little left over.

I was so tired after a long day of work Thud, it was 7:30 so I just had a few with some pulled pork and then I put some yellow curry sauce on the rest. I ate the whole pack, and seem to be fine. I doubt they have soy as I'm not supposed to have it.

I ended up getting the case (5 packs) free as they leaked during shipping from Amazon.

That sounds like a really good way to eat them. Yum!

I often eat a whole pack myself. I did today in a meat and veggie stir fry.

I can see working up to a full pack, Jean. Maybe not the first time, though.

I ate just a half a pack initially without any problems so I increased to a whole pack pretty quickly.

If I'm going to eat a full pack, I conduct myself accordingly. It's a bowel bomb. I make sure I don't forget my magnesium before bed, drink plenty of water, and don't take any meds or supplements with it.

LOL on bowel bomb, Kristine.

Jean, the fact that, having suffered from so many issues previously, you could eat so much of the shirataki noodles is a testament to how a healthy diet heals.

MickiSue

Seems miraculous to me given how sick I was. There was a time when my system could not handle fiber. My diet was close to 0 fiber.

For me a healing diet has meant first eliminating the foods that were making me sick, gluten(and all grains), all dairy (ghee has only been added back very recently), soy(and all other legumes), eggs, chicken and beef(I now can eat beef occasionally). Then making sure that everything I did eat was of high nutritional value and of course low carb. This is why I pay such close attention to the quality of my food, why I eat only organic and grass fed etc. I'm a better safe than sorry kind of person and I am very careful with my digestive system. That said, I can eat a whole package of noodles without any problem, but that's now, after much healing has gone on.

Jean

Do you mean they give you the runs? They might have done the opposite with me!

Heh heh, no, you're correct - it's just very heavy in the gut so to speak. Y'know how the bottle of Metamucil or other fiber supplement says to take it with a full glass of water? One time I had a full pack of shirataki right before bed, didn't drink any water, and woke up at 2:00 am dying of thirst. I downed 2 full pints of water in about 15 minutes.

Hello Shiratakians! I will be venturing out today, enjoying the sunshine and stopping by my secret location to unburden their cooler of "Value" packs of the noodles. 14oz for less then $3.00 USD. I have been known to eat a whole one of these in soup like fake Pho. I might do that later on.

thud, how many carbs are the noodles you use. I went to a huge Asian grocery store with an entire isle of noodles and could not find any without lots of carbs.
Are you using the ones called glass noodles?
