Yes. We live in a world where 1 celebrity = 100 actual scientists

I find myself having a kind of negative knee jerk gut reaction to celebrity diet spokes people. It seems to make dietary advice into a kind of popularity contest. I have no particular feelings about Halle Berry, pro or con, and if she brings people into a healthy way of eating then it's all good, I guess, but what kind of person gets their dietary advice from a celebrity? It's just plain silly. If they never get into the science, even at the most basic level so that they understand why this is a healthy way to eat, then it is unlikely to last.

She has 2.4 million followers !! on Instagram, says this is not a Diet but a way of living, and provides links directly to DD.

Until last week, I didn’t understand the power of Instagram. My 26 yo DD doesn’t use FB, now filled with old folks like Mom, though I have ignored her advice for the last few years. But when I wanted more info on Suzanne Ryan, noticed her FB pages only had 30,000 followers (then how did she get on TV?) BUT Instagram? 145,000.
As the world gets more visual, seems some dont even read a FB post or 140 character tweet. Old platform forums are dead while Instagram is a powerful media now. I still don’t "follow" anyone on Instagram, but probably should. I have a Twitter account to see LC news early ... that is about as much as this old brain can handle

Yikes, it's great! I can't believe I'm still being moved by this stuff after all these years. (i'm also angry that we still have to have these talks after all these years -- why is it taking forwever for this fairly simple message to get out there.).

thanks
