Thank you, Wa'il. I received the copy, and pasted it, with my request, into the "help me" form Cox uses to try to discourage people from asking for help. Interesting that Cox let your copy through, and your test message. It's Sunday, so they won't do anything about it until Mon or Tues.

Just reporting in, Wa'il, that Cox hasn't responded yet to the request for help I submitted Sunday, including the bounce form you provided me. I'll wait a couple more days and make another request. Thanks!

Reporting again: I think I give up. Cox has defeated me. I followed their increasingly bizarre directions for getting the notification messages recategorized as not spam. Oh well. Thanks for your cooperation, Wa'il.

I guess I'll just have to pop in to the forum on a regular basis to check my subscribed threads to see if there are new posts. I'm still not getting notifications.

I know! I used to keep a session of Internet Explorer open with my subscriptions page open and would check it several times each day. Who am I kidding? I have no life. I was checking it several times each HOUR!

I haven't changed anything since my last post in this thread. Our server logs showed that the notifications were being sent and rejected. Check the dates on these notifications, were they sent over a long period and the whole backlog was sent to you (including multiple notifications of the same thread), Or are they just new notifications from 33 different threads?

My guess is that we were blocked by some SPAM checking software/service (some users would rather report notifications as SPAM, instead of just un-subscribing). And the settings were deemed too aggressive so we were de-listed. But that's just a guess. Glad it's working for you, and hopefully this will soon be the case with the other few ISP's.

Wa'il

I've deleted them now, but the dates looked like the earliest one was sent about a week prior. Something probably happened on the part of my ISP. I'm just glad it did!

Thanks for all your help along the way, even if it wasn't your efforts that finally got things working. If nothing else, you charmed it! Sort of like "loosening" a tight jar lid before giving it to someone else who finally opens it.

Default Emails

I really laughed at the posts about not getting your emails because there is a thread that I DO NOT wish to get daily emails for and I can't seem to stop them from coming. Changed my email address, sent web master a request, changed options in user CP ---still no luck. They are just going into my junk file now but more importantly what is going on? The email monster is attacking!

Did you go to your Subscriptions page? Look for the blue menu bar near the top of the screen -- the one that goes all the way across the page, not the short one at the very top of the page.

Click on Quick Links and then click Subscribed Threads near the bottom. That will take you to your subscriptions page.

Then click the box next to Notification at the top left of your list of subscriptions (or click the box next to each thread you no longer want to subscribe to).

Then scroll all the way down to the bottom and in the drop-down for the Selected Threads there's an option to Delete Subscription. Select that and then click the Go button to the right.

That should do it.

The easiest way to stop getting emails from a specific thread is to click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the notification email :

Yes, it must have been something with your ISP, Bawdy. Way to go! Nothing's different with mine. Waah, my ISP doesn't love me, and I even followed all its instructions. Oh well. Wa'il, thanks for your ongoing interest.

And now I'm not getting notifications again. I think I'll give my ISP a call tomorrow.

Just this past weekend I deleted the error message you sent me for what you get on your end when notifications are rejected. Could you maybe send it to me again?

THANKS!

Never mind. It was still in my Deleted Items folder. Doh. I'll call tomorrow.
