And for those of us who just want a little coconut yogurt every now and then, you can now buy a commercial version. Its very tasty and the ingredients aren't too terrible.

Back on topic...

My blood sugar was 85 this morning. Is it the lack of coffee? I also started exercising too so it might be that. But my exercise is about 10 minutes on my rebounder and it hadn't seemed to budge my FBG before.

I've also dropped 3 pounds really fast. Interesting...

Nancy, have you ever tried Teeccino? I highly recommend it. I could never really get into tea, so this worked for me. Description of it here: http://coffeetea.about.com/od/coffe...gr/teeccino.htm

Oh interesting! I'll have to look into it. I wonder if Whole Foods would sell it.

I have seen it at Whole Foods. It's made with barley, just like Postum and Cafix and Celestial Seasonings Roastaroma.

Oh poop, well that lets that right out. Barley is a gluten grain.

My guess is it probably does. If not, your local health food store probably carries one or more of the flavors. You can also order it on their Web site: www.teeccino.com

If you order from the Web site, I'd recommend getting the sampler, to decide which flavors you like (or if you like any; but I think there's probably something there for everyone).

They also have a method I followed for mixing it with regular coffee, slowly decreasing the ratio, until you're caffeine-free.

I'll be interested to know how you like it! I also find caffeine affects my blood sugar, and decaf coffee is hard on my stomach (acidic), so that's why I switched to this stuff.

Nancy, do you have Celiac?

I found some info on Teeccino and gluten:

From http://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/i...showtopic=28945

The upshot is that Teeccino says lab testing shows no gluten is extracted in the process of brewing Teeccino, but the Celiacs in the forum are wary.

From Gluten-a-go-go:
http://glutenagogo.blogspot.com/200...uten-dairy.html

She points out the brew is gluten-free, but don't eat the unbrewed granules.

And from the Teeccino forum: https://www.teeccino.com/Secure/For...%20to%20gluten?
Apparently, they have begun labeling Teeccino as "gluten-free."

Maybe you could try a sample and see?

No, I don't mess around with stuff containing ingredients that contain gluten. I don't need my autoimmune system to deal with that. Even if I don't get a visible reaction, I'm suspicious that it is still causing issues that'll make my antibodies go up. And I tend to be suspicious of companies making claims like that. Get a couple of independent labs to test it and make the results available on your web site.

Better yet, find something else and remove the barley.

OMG, that's GREAT! Haven't you been stalled for like, ever?!! Or do you normally fluctuate that much? I would think the loss would make it easier to say goodbye to the java.

I understand re: the autoimmunity. They did post results from an independent lab: http://www.teeccino.com/images/webpaper.gif

I do hope they'll do that eventually.

I know I probably seem a little obsessed with this, LOL. I'm just so happy to finally be caffeine-free I want to share it with everyone!

I have wanted to try the Folger's Smooth sometime, but haven't yet as I was happy with Teeccino. But I may try it sometime when I want to splurge on "real" coffee, if they have a decaf version. If I do, I'll let you know how it affected my stomach.

I think someone said beer is theoretically gluten free too - same situation. Maybe it still has the opioid peptides?

Beer definitely isn't gluten free if it contains barley malt.
