yeah ... and Ed B. isn't being a lot more cooperative for Saturday either!

I mentioned to my stylist that we were planning a Saturday visit to Costco (ooohh... does that date me??!!!) and she almost went into hysterics at the thought that we actually believe we might get into the store this time of year! Apparently the line-ups just to get in are hours long. Jude, or Anny or Carolyn? Do you know anything about this? Is she right? I'm not a shopper at the best of times and if we're going to have to stand in line just to get into the store - I'll pass thanks.

Your stylist may well be correct...... Guess we can gauge the line up after we eat.

Julie

PS the Mousemobile is allergic to snow so it stays home if it's ugly. She tried skating last year and didn't like it much....

...and the Ubiquitous Jeep (as my dear one calls it) still has 2 fairly bald-ish front tires (blame Revenue Canada)...

Actually, Glenda, I don't know squat about Costco, but I think it's fair to translate at least a healthy percentage share of that horrible Saturday traffic to the big box store zone out here, and of course Costco squats in the middle of it...

Just getting to Nando's is going to be an excercise then, between seasonal traffic and potential snow flurries (tho those aren't til Sunday, are they?)...much as I hate to say it.

Yikes. We'll end up going 2 months without a get-together!

I think all the stores are going to be completely nuts on the weekends but as long as the weather holds, I'm still on to try.

Will post when I see what the AM brings .. it's already been sleeting some but that could change hourly. I have to say though, if it's looking nasty, I'm gonna pass - I don't do snow, or slush even though I don't have a mousemobile!!!!

It's clear at my house this morning - a little cold but so far so good.

I'll check back later to see who's in.

Miss y'all

I'm SO sorry...You'll have to count me out...I got extra work today, meeting a new client as well...and a bunch of little niggly things I need to get done.
(notice I'm up at 8:30am on a Saturday? BAH!)

Too much on my plate this year and not enough $$ to deal with it. Feeling stressed.
Two more weeks and it will allllll be over.......

Cold but no snow here too, but sorry, I'm afraid I'm with Steph. My doc has just put me on an added BP med and, so far, it's leaving me weak, dizzy, and totally without energy. I've already had my first nap of the day! That's not supposed to last but while it's going on I just can't get motivated to fight Holiday Saturday shopping traffic and crowds.

Ladies, I hear you. I suspect the location (distance, infamous traffic, season) is a problem.

Should we try for next week, somewhere in town? Let us all off the hook?

Hugs!

I just talked to Anny and we agree that postponing is best.

Sigh. Ok.

Meanwhile, feast your eyes on this:
http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/cheese...bacon_roll.html
for brunch...

I'm mobile again, all week (having finally nailed fulltime parking, meaning I don't have to hold down a spot all day). And I'm in the Garbally/Burnside/Jutland area, not far from Mayfair for that matter.

Hope we can sort out a new "date", I'd love to catch up with you all before the madness of the season overtakes completely (yuk)...

Hugs! (nap away, Glenda, just roll with it until you feel better)...

I can manage almost any day for dinner and most days for lunch as long as it's close to downtown.

Oooohh ... bacon & cheese! But I think I'd add some minced onion to the bacon lattice. That used to be my very fave open-face sammich - cheese (usually Velveeta), topped with thinly sliced onion, topped with bacon placed close enough to protect the cheese and onion from burning. Under the broiler until the bacon was done, the onions soft, and the cheese melted and almost oozing. I hadn't thought of that for years, but I'll bet it would work on a Rev. Roll - don't have any Velveeta - maybe I'll try it with grated cheddar.
