Hi Lauren - looking forward to seeing you again! I don't think we've discussed the "where" yet - just the "when". Usually, if it's a restaurant we say so right here on this thread - if it's at someone's home, the address comes by "private message" - in your case, with not enough posts for PM'ing, I'm sure Jude will make sure you're kept up-to-date!

Well, it's official. As of this morning, I'm an employee (auxiliary, but still) of the BCGov again.

Soooooooooooooooo, I was thinking about a change of venue...

• maybe Earl's downtown in the Bay Centre? They're pretty good about altering menu items but on the other hand, it's SO noisy in there.
• mmmmm, Paul's diner, across from the Whitespot on Douglas, kittycorner from the remains of the Bay building? Pretty casual and not very upmarket, but they usually discount when you remove the bread and fries from the plate before it gets to you (something WhiteSpot does NOT do), at least on my lunch omelettes, which are pretty darn acceptable and affordable, and they have some big booths that will easily seat us all (wouldn't recommend the burgers much, but the steak sandwich w/o the bread and with veg is quite acceptable, even if the veg are pedestrian).
• Montana's, right next to that place we usually go to, heavy on the pastas but some stuff to pick about it; comfy ambience.
• any other suggestions out there?

I'm OK anywhere we go....Earl's or Cactus Club.....Paul's Diner is pushing it for me though...

Hmmm..... I don't have any restaurant faves in town, but anywhere right downtown is not my favorites place in the evening, so I'm not too thrilled with Earls in the Bay Centre. Jude, do you mean Kelsey's, beside Montana's? I've heard the service is excellent - haven't heard anything about the food ... pasta, huh??!!!!

I've been saving tomorrow as well, and I'm not sure about the 27th ... my brother (from Fort St. John) is planning to bring his 11-year old grand-daughter for a visit for a couple of days next week so I'm not sure about the 27th but, whatever works for most of you ... there's always next month if I can't make it this month.

Glad to hear you're gainfully, and officially employed, Jude! Even if it's not exactly what you were hoping for, it sure helps to relieve the pressure - congrats, and hugs!!!!
