Default Hello from michigan

Hi Fellow low carbers,

I stumbled across this wonderful forum and have been lurking for a good month or so.

Here's my story...
I started Atkins dec 2007 at 255 and went strong till june. Lost 53 lbs and fell off the wagon Gained 23 lbs back! I got my self together January of this year and have been going strong again and refuse to fall of that wagon again.
I ran into a stall for 3 weeks then lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks YAY! then came TOM and gained 3 back.
And here I am today not giving up and moving forward.. I try to work out anywhere from 5 to 6 days a week mostly cardio right now once I get closer to goal ill start with my weights again. (I was using weight when I stalled im afraid its one of many reasons why I stalled)

I can't wait to get to know you all. From lurking I feel that I already know alot of you.

Migrl71, Newberry is actually where I live! We just moved there permanently in March. Very different experience in the UP, as pretty much everything up there is a small town. What I tell people is, the closest WalMart is over an hour away...now THAT'S rural, LOL!

30 carbs a day in the beginning doesn't sound like Atkins. Perhaps you could start a thread and let everyone know what you are eating and we can help you.

Also from Michigan! And, that Walmart that's over an hour away from Newberry, I know it well. My parents are yoopers, they go to Newberry every Friday for fish dinner at the Elks.

I live in the lower penn, so they call me a "troll" - one who lives below the bridge. I get up there whenever I can - maybe over Memorial Day if I get the chance.

I'm back on South Beach after struggling with life for a year. I need to lose weight before I get into nursing clinicals so I can do it without ruining my feet, hips, back, legs, etc.

nice to meet all of you
