Question Best Revolution Rolls Recipie?

Hi,

Ive been reading a lot about Revolution Rolls but the recipies I see are conflicting, some say cream cheese, some cottage cheese, some add sour cream to.

Which is the best, nicest most roll like recipe any experience?

Ruth

I've tried them ALL, and in my opinion, the best recipe is still T-man's that is listed in the recipe forum. You'll get lots of different and quite fervent answers to this question, b/c everyone is fiercely devoted to their favorite! I'd say try 'em all and see what combination you like best.

I love Cleo's Oopsie Rolls. They are really the best I've tried.

While we're on the subject, what is the EASIEST roll to make, or which recipe has the best success rate? I tried to make them once, and it, um, didn't even make it to the oven.

Most people seem so thrilled with them, so I want to give it another try.

I am a horrible cook - and the rev rolls I make are very easy. I use the following:

One bowl:
6 egg whites beaten with 1/4 tsp cream of tartar

Another bowl;
4 egg yolks beaten with 3 ounces softened cream cheese

Fold yolks into whites - being careful not to break down the whites too much.

Spray cookie sheet. Preheat oven to 300. Make rolls whatever size you like - I usually get 12. Bake unil just golden (about 30 - 40 minute).

I tend to underbake my rolls - that way I can reheat them without them getting crumbley.

I;ve also found that the less you break down the whites when folding in the yolks the fluffier your rolls will be. The mixture does NOT need to be totally mixed together - more like streaks of yellow in the white.

Anyway, I hope this helps!

I've heard so much on Rev Rolls, but how do they look like? What exactly are they? Does anyone have a picture?

OK, Here is the recipe I just used. They are really good! I just ate one with a slice of ham.

Revolution Rolls - 12 Rolls

8 eggs, separated
1/4 tsp of cream of tartar
3 Tbs. of Hellman's Mayonaise
1/4 Tsp of Garlic powder (optional)
Sprinkle of cheddar for the top
Sprinkle of freshly grated parmesian cheese for
top

Put whites and cream of tartar in a large bowl. With an electric mixer, beat until whites are stiff..(don't move in the bowl), but not dry.

NOTE: Separate the whites from the yolk in a separate container because I've noticed if you get any yolk in your whites then they won't beat as fluffy.

In a medium bowl, mix yolks, mayonaise, and garlic. Mix
until well blended.

Dump all the yolks on top of the whites mixture.. Gently fold the mixtures together. Do not "mix" you must "fold"

Either using a muffin-top pan (which has been sprayed with Pam) or a cookie sheet, plop 6 mounds.

NOTE: I put the base on and make sure it's spread then pile it up so it's high.

Add sprinkles of cheese to the tops.

Bake at 300 for 25-30 minutes until well browned...Cool on rack and then store in baggies in the fridge.

And here is a pic of how they turned out.

Now those look good - and I'm assuming that these can be made without any cheese at all if one wanted to skip the dairy.

Thank you for sharing your version - which looks to be completely dairy-free except for the cheese topping (which I'll omit).

I've printed this off and will try it sometime in the very near future.

Sorry I haven't been here. It's my burthday, and I've been running around like crazy.

I've tried the old RR rolls, but when I biffed in the kithen, I ended up with the oopsies, and I am so glad! they are really savory and versatile, and could carry someone from morning until evening...

Here is oopsie french toast

oopsie gyros

and for dessert, the options are many:

oopsie cream puffs

chocolate almond oopsies with blackberry and chocolate
