Marta, I had the batwing surgery about 18 months ago, one of the best things I ever did! I love going sleeveless now, you'll be thrilled!

For anyone interested in the brachioplasty (bat wing) surgery, here's my before & after. And that was pretty soon after, still a bit of swelling. I was really selfconscious about my arms before, wouldn't wear short sleeves at all. Now I wear them all the time.

Valorie, just curious as to the scaring involved in the arms after the sugery was done.

Long scar, from the armpit to the elbow almost, on the underside of the arm. If your arms are hanging by your sides, they are hidden.

My scar didn't heal particularly well, but I knew that was a danger going in, I've had trouble with keloid scars before. I'm sure for many, the amount of scar I have would make them feel as (or more) self-conscious of the arms than the batwings though. But, I'm not one who is freaked out about scars too much, for the little bit of scar that will show sometimes, it was still well worth it for me.
