Default Ya' Just Gotta Love Life...

Good morning everybody,

Awh, March 1, 2007, a new day, a new month, another day the Lord has given us to be blessed and receive His grace, mercy, and favor. This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it!

A new day, just gotta love it! Today, the Lord has allowed you and I to wake up today. How wonderful!

Well, today, the 1st of March 2007, I have lost 2 lbs more. Yippie! Thank you Jesus!

How come I knew that was going to happen after the Wednesday checkin? Oh well, I will be more than happy to add it to next Wednesday progress report...that's only fair.

Oh yeah, NEWTOLWCB, loose pants are all that and a bag of chips!

Well, wishing you all many, many, blessings, grace, mercy and His favor.

All Glory Be To The Lord!

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of you heart ~Psalms 37:4

Good afternoon everyone!
Within the past 24 hours I've learned of the passing of my Uncle Bob and my friend Brian - the father of one of my Boy Scouts.

Please keep my family and friends in your prayers.
Thanks,
Scott!

Thank you Jesus for this day!

I need you, you need me;
we’re all a part of God’s body.
Stand with me, agree with me;
we’re all a part of God’s body.

It is His will that every need be supplied;
you are important to me,
I need you to survive.
You are important to me,
I need you to survive.

I pray for you, you pray for me;
I love you, I need you to survive.
I won’t harm you with words from my mouth;
I love you, I need you to survive.

When DW was gathering up some of the laundry earlier today, she grabbed my altar cloth and yanked it. Unlike the magic trick, it didn't just leap off of the table and leave everything untouched.

The oil lamp spilled all over everything, including the two wooden icons I have, which are both very precious to me, and my incense burner, also very precious, cracked into several pieces. I was so upset that I didn't know what to do, or how to react. She told me she was able to wipe off the icons, but I haven't been able to look at them yet to see how they are. Worst case scenario, I can replace them. The incense burner was handmade and one of a kind. She glued it back together, though there is a chip still missing that I will have to look for. I will try to paint the cracks to make them less obvious.

In a way, I can try to look at it as being some sort of metaphor for myself, being also broken and missing chips, and certainly less attractive than I was before any of the accidents or mishandlings I've been subjected to over the years, but on the other, it is still all horrifying, and I am still upset.

I also thought of the song Anthem by Leonard Cohen, which sometimes has made me cry:

and every heart, every heart
to love will come --
but like a refugee.

ring the bells that still can ring,
forget your perfect offering.
there is a crack, a crack in everything:
that's how the light gets in.
that's how the light gets in.

Praise the Lord!

I am about to hit day 60 on Atkins. I did a strict 2 week induction and since then I have been on OWL but keeping carbs lower than 30 while adding new foods...so a modified OWL.

I've lost 50 pounds and several pant and shirt sizes. But the big test, given my diet high in fat, saturated fats, eggs, meats, coconut oil, butter, cheeses, etc., was bloodwork. The results are in. Simply amazing.

October, 2006
Triglycerides: 211
Cholesterol: 206
HDL: 45
LDL: 142

February, 2007
Triglycerides: 117
Cholesterol: 142
HDL: 48
LDL: 71

1. A 45% reduction in triglycerides
2. A 32% reduction in total cholesterol
3. A 6% increase in HDL
4. A 50% reduction in LDL

Hey all! I'm still struggling with the coffee in my sugar although not as badly. I don't know why this is so hard to give up. I had no problem dropping soda and fruit juices, but I just loooove my coffee and strong and sweet like me.

There's one thing I want to add while on this journey. I want to try and practice being still. You know, not worrying and just casting all my cares on Him and leaving them there?

Has anyone ever heard of this book..."The Practice of the Presence of God?"

I highly recommend it. I call that my 2nd bible.

Sorry, I didn't know we were suppose to record our weight.

This will be counted as of 2/28 since I joined late.

elpasopop...wtg! Do you eat any veggies at all or is this strictly meat/eggs?
that is great! I'm in bootcamp and we do low carb/low fat. We're not suppose to use butter, but I use it anyway as I know it will not hinder your weight loss. She keeps track of our body fat, so I'm wondering if your body fat has come down. And did you lose 50 lbs. in 2 monhths? Keep up the good work

Scott...you are in my prayers and thoughts.

Honey- I eat the basic induction veggies - 2 cups salad and 1 cup other low-starch veggie. Some days a little more, some days a little less. All in all it is probably more vegetables than I was eating pre-Atkins. I mix in olives and stuffed mushrooms, that kind of thing also.

I will not be able to weigh this week because I can't get to the gym. Will pick it up next week if I am able...I will be traveling to the ATL.

God bless everyone!
