Hello everyone,

I am Celia and I am from London. I was doing Atkins in the past but had to stop as I got sick of the food. Now I am doing M&E and love it. I am being very careful with my food so that same thing does'nt happen again.

I need to loose around 50 pounds.

Celia

Hi Dee I live near Leeds.
I notice we have the same occupation too!
Do you find you are ok at work with your long hours. I'm often asked why I have cream cheese and celery for breakfast, and don't eat the toast.

Hi there
i'm Eme,i'm 38,self imployed in north London and back on the Atkins after being on another diet, hopefully now for good.
i am a total sweet monster so i'm not sure how i will get on.
i have tried a few diets and i seem to always come back to this
as it is a good way of eating.I must admit i get a little tired of
telling people that the"A" WOE is not going to kill me,as they all raise their eyebrows and shake their heads, but they can't help it.
anyway enough of me waffleing on hope to catch people about.
xx

Hi Eme,

welcome I am with you on this as in, I always come back to this way of eating. However, I am trying M&E version right now and feel great.

Oh boy, getting a little tired of peoples lifted eyebrows, tell me about it, I know it far too well. But hey, we are doing this for ourselves, and when we show results, that will shut em up.

Good luck with the WOE and take care,

Celia

hi CeliaUK
yep tell me about it,
i find people saying "hay you look good, how have you done that then ?"
and when i say "atkins" their faces drop and they change the way
they talk to you, they go all concerned and start telling you your
kidneys are going to fall out
i just smile and say ,well it's working for me.
good luck on your journey.
xx

Hello all

I'm Charlie and I live on the south coast in Sussex. I'm relatively new to low carbing - tried GI in january and lost half a stone but couldn't keep it on. Big turning point for me was giving up smoking as I hit the sugar big time and felt awful. I also went on another forum and found out a lot about sugar addiction.

I read Eat Fat Get Thin (barry groves) then Potatoes not Prozac, which deals with sugar sensitivity. Since I have cut the sugar and gone "high" fat (ie normal fat ), I've lost a stone (did lose 18lbs but had a bit of a carb creep, which I've managed to stop).

It's not just the weight loss - I feel so much better and finally feel fully recovered from post natal depression. I also have the energy now to exercise, which I hope will help.

Glad to see LCing is alive and well in Uk!

Default Hi!

BBS Mum and welcome! im following the Eat fat get Thin book but fell off the wagon last week with work leaving do's and hubby away so thought that gave me licence to graze!!..he follows Atkins but despite being away he lost 4lb ..he claims it was nervous energy as he organised the conference!..so ive been doing the 3 day meat and egg principle and on my 3rd day today..then will gradually build my carbs up again!

Why dont you start a journal as we have and can keep supporting each other that way too ..see thread on how to start a journal if you are not sure .

.love Dee x
