Thanks, Dane. I'm suffering through information overload at the moment. Actually, I'm not as far off as I had feared. Finally weighed myself today. From how I was feeling and how my clothes were fitting, I thought maybe I was flirting with 170 again. Nope, just 162, which is only 10 pounds up from before my first vacation this year. Definitely can handle that, and more.
For the first time ever, I actually wrote down affirmations/goals, based on recommendations from the book. I came up with 12. I'm going to write them on individual index cards and then stick them all around my bathroom mirror so I see them first thing upon rising and last thing before going to bed (and several times in between).
The affirmations need to be in the present tense to trick your mind into feeling that you're already there. Not, "I want to weigh 140" but rather, "I weigh 140."
I can do this!
