Well I actually broke down and got myself a treadmill. I used to run in college (thats how I lost all my weight then) and I'd do it outside. Of course I lived in Illinois at the time. It'd get hot there too. ANd I'd put on one of those vinyl suits and put sweats over it and run outside...I would get home and could literally hear the sweat sloshing around at my ankles and wrists. When I;d take the suit off, there'd be like a cup of sweat. It was great! But now I'd prob keel over if I tried to run outside. It's 100 today and supposed to get hotter, there is NO way. So basically I run in the mornings, well jog rather. THis week was all cardio and some lifting. I don't want to start lifting till I get really good in a habit about working out. I figure that if I can stay on this real good, then next week I'll get the vinyl suit But I'm still staying inside!

This is a confession day for me - bad, bad weekend (eating-wise). Oh well, I'm not beating myself up about it - I've done that enough over the years. Time to get back on track! I hope everybody has a great Monday!

I was afraid I'd hijacked this thread. Yesterday's food:

one orange
two slices whole wheat bread with all fruit spread
coffee

handfull of cashews

hamburger
one tomatoe
two tablespoons mayo

lentil soup
carrots

I also had a slice of a frozen pie I made. Two cartons of lc yogurt blended with a carton of whipped topping, place in pie pan and freeze.

I was thinking I'd read they were ok but they were referring to dried beans. Not sure about canned.

Oh man! Looks like the dry beans are the way to go for ALL the beans. How disappointing. Oh well, I guess I'll be a bean-boiling fool here shortly. I remember my mom cooking them when I was young, but I've never tried it. So well see!
I went to the store tonite and got some kind of healt bread...I forget what it's called..will post it tomorrow. And I also got some Fat Flush tortillias...who knew! I'll look them up as well. Baiscally, neither has flour...I'll post later about them as well.
Anyhoo...I'll post later!

Sybs, I definitely want to know about those tortillas!

I actually made some pinto beans last week from dry beans. I used the "quick soak" method where you boil them for a minute or so and then let them sit for about an hour, change out the water, and then cook until tender. I added some onions and seasoning, and then added some chopped ham towards the end. They were absolutely wonderful - probably the way beans are supposed to be! I'm going to experiment with some of the others.

I think I read somewhere that changing the water a couple of times when soaking the beans makes them a little less "gas producing" - hmmmmm.

Your tortillas would have come in handy - one day for lunch, I mashed some of the beans with a little olive oil and some taco seasoning and low-fat cheese and made a bean burriito using a low-carb tortilla. It was really good!

I'm at work early today - it's so darned hot that I want to get my work done early and get the heck away from this computer!

Iowagirl, thanks for posting your menu. I always look at it for ideas - except I don't think I want lentil soup anytime soon! Have a great day today - I'll post a menu later, when I figure out what I want to eat. With this heat, I don't want to fix anything that involves an oven!

The maker can be found at organicbread.com and look for products/ fat flush bread. It doesn't have flour, but it has wheat. The other is Mastemacher Fitness Bread. Theres only like 5 slices, but it's very hearty. Both of these 'breads' seem very heathy, not terribly tasty (but that can be fixed), and very high fiber content. I'm hoping they;re low GI...we'll see how they affect me.
