That's great news folks!

Please let us know how many were online, was it slow or normal, and if there were any problems?

Default Pretty good Wa'il

You pre-empted me Wa'il. I was going to make some suggestions about the Chat room.

We were all fairly new to this Chat so we all experienced some slight problems. Everyone was very quick to learn and overcome.

Five of us made the Chat window very small. Therefore made it quite difficult to keep up with all the comments that started coming in thick and fast once we all got the hang of it. Is it possible to make the window flexible so we can adjust the size on our own screens?

The other problem was that there are two completely different screens. I got disconnected. The first time I went in just fine, no problem got the proper window. After getting d/c i went into a different screen ("screen 2"). I could see everyone in Chat but they could not see or receive me. This is what happened to some of the others too 'cos when I started playing about with the smilies and colours some people could not see what I was talking about. Now I realise it was 'cos they were in screen 2.

Wa'il I hope you understand what I am trying to explain in my layman's language?
Take care.

Thanks Fiona, it's similar to our previous chat experiences, "somewhat working". Nothing can be done about the chat screen size. This chat service is provided free by the webmasters resources site "as is". I'm always on the lookout for something better.

Lightbulb Chats

I have nothing to offer about the technicalities of the Chat program .... but ... a practical suggestion perhaps???

Why not also use our Forums Calendar to post proposed Chat date and times ...???? Just click on the calendar icon at the top right of every page. Any registered member can post a public event.

Just a thought. I might try to join sometime, if I can figure out the time difference!!!

Doreen

Bez,

Sorry, I have only just seen this thread (4 hours after it was too late!).

It was really a matter of the the blind leading the blind, anyway. You all outperformed, outkeyed and outwitted me in the Chat room, but I guess I'll pick it up with practice!

We may not have long to wait for another session, if Fiona's plan materialises.

Best wishes,

Andy.

Smile I'll c wot I can do to help

Wa'il, I can't help u but I know someone who can. RAJ has set up his own chat room with pretty good features on it. And it is all free so I can't imagine that he is putting all this effort into it for free if he is having to pay out. Maybe the two of you would do better to talk direct?

Doreen good thinking. It would be great to have you there too. We need to get a thread going to work out the various time zones. I know Karen (Vancouver) is 8 hours behind GMT but don't know what the time is called. Then I can just put 2pm GMT (-8hrs Western time or whatever) and so on.

Take care.

Who is Raj? I can usually figure out how they do it by simply visiting their site. Do you have their URL?

Default Thanks all

Hi Andy,

Once I got in I was fine, I think Ken responded to my post seconds before I pressed the key for 2nd post and his overtook mine and appeared on my screen just as I pressed 'submmit reply button'.

Anyway, found it fun bit confusing at times and connection failed twice but I think others had this problem too.

The other thing is would it be possible to do it on a different night, I usually go out Saturday Nights and won't be able to join in.

Thanks,

Bez

Smile 6.30pm GMT Daily 23-28 September

Ken and Margaret came at 2pm GMT today Sunday 22nd Sept.

We decided to give CHAT a go by making a commitment to it daily at 6.30pm (18.30 GMT). Situation to be reviewed next week.

We each set our own goals for the following week and hope to support each other on a daily basis.

I will wait until 6.40 (18.40 GMT) for at least one person to turn up before moving on to other things.

Take care.

Question Whats happened ??????????

Hi

We seem to have lost the 'UK Chit Chat' thread. Is seems to have been renamed as 'Andy - Bez Needs More Help!!' (without the Sticky) and Bez's thread has dissappeared.

Any ideas whats going on.......Fiona?......Anyone?

Hi all

Missed the 2pm chat but will try and make it at 6-30. Was good to talk yesterday.

I thought the chat room was a bit clunky but liked the trout bit.

Strange how this thread is renamed.

See you later

Jon

Hi Fiona,

I think Wa'il is awaiting a reply from you, unless you have contacted him independently. (See a few posts back).
