Afwife we might have to order in bulk from you if your commissary carries it! Probably will not travel well though, although if we are desperate enough we'll find a way!

I might have to start taking orders and have each of you can all come out on the day I pick your ice cream up.

Oh dear the lenghts we'll go to for lc ice cream.

I also sent an email to B&J's customer service ... have recently become a friend of B&J, and today I received a special unbreakable ice-cream shovel !!! It is pretty cool - but then i am easily pleased!

I tried these in Canada a couple of weeks ago - the chocolate one is FANTASTIC, although I wasn't impressed with the vanilla/almond.

My wife - who is an LC sceptic - thought that the chocolate one was the best LC product she had tasted.

They are sweetened with splenda and therefore have no polytrot problems.

Splenda and sugar alcohols are NON exclusive.... a product may have BOTH.

In fact, the B&J icecream do have both (see link). The chocolate flavor seem to have by far the least (2g of s.a. per half cup)... the other 2 flavors have 7g-9g.

But again, most people can consume a limited amount of s.a. without feeling the so-called "laxative" effect... the key is for each one to find (by experimentation) his/her "tolerence" (which will depend on the specific polyol, lactitol and sorbitol being among the worse, and erythrytol being by far the very best).

Hi Sucraphobe

I'm very intolerant to polyols, but found that the Ben and Jerry's ice-cream had no effect on me.

Tha Vanilla/Almond one had ABSOLUTELY no effect as I chucked it after one mouthful!

Hi My UK Buds:

This is the reply I got from Ben and Jerry's UK from the e-mail I sent on ya'lls behalf (oh and she thinks I am Virginia. LOL):

Hi Virginia,

Thanks for your e-mail and your interest in Ben & Jerry's.

No, I'm afraid that the Ben & Jerry's low-carb ice creams are not yet
available in the UK. Unfortunately we are unable to offer the full range of
Ben & Jerry's here in the UK as unlike the US, most of our supermarkets will
only take a limited range of flavours (usually around eight), due to their
space restrictions.

By limiting our flavour range to no more than 16 flavours, we can ensure
that in independent stores, where we have a Ben & Jerry's freezer on
display, the whole range can be displayed at any one time. This ensures our
customers can have a complete choice at one stop, otherwise you'd never know
where to travel for your favourite flavour!

However, we do appreciate that more and more people are now following a
low-carb diet and it is something we will be considering for the future.

Best regards,

Lisa Dale

LOL..did ya'll notice how Lisa keeps misspelling *flavor*??

ROTFLMAO!!

I just mentioned in my email to her that LC folks are very connected worldwide and that we instantly become aware of products that are available in other countries that are not available in our home country and that B&J should be capitalizing on this opportunity to increase sales
