Default Hi, first post

Hi all,
My forum closed down and I have been looking for some new low carb pals and "I choose you!"

I am an east end gal (Beaches) and am looking for some inspiration/buddies to help me get back on the straight and narrow. I have been stalled for about 4 months, but I think it's the late night snacking.
I'm also a personal chef in the middle of developing a low carb line of food that some of my clients have been eager for me to finish. This product testing is soooo hard, not to wonder why my weight is stalled testing out new brownie and macadamia nut toffee recipes.

I'm off to the cottage life show on Sunday, what time will you be meeting at Zsa Zsas.
I have a DH & a 3 1/2 yr. old DS.

Nice to meet you.

Michelle

Welcome, Michelle!! Wow... a personal chef. I'm interested in any tips you can share. If you're looking for testers, I'm sure you'll have lots of volunteers on this form. Me first!! Mmmmm... macadamia nut toffee!!

Last month we met at Feathers pub in the east end. So, this month we decided to try the west end.

As far as what time we are meeting, is 11:30 or noon okay with everyone?

Hope you can make it.

Michele (with one 'l')

Hi Michele/elles!

I will give you the recipe for the bombs on Sunday, noon sounds like a good time to meet!
Nice to meet you too, east end Michelle! Too bad you can't make it, but we hope to see you next time. Cottage, eh? I'm jealous!

See everyone NOON Sunday at Zsa Zsa's, under Atkins name!!

Oh I would love to join but like Eddie, I have church on Sunday mornings and since I play the organ, I can't really try a different time!!

Thanks for bringing it to kind of the west end, though! Being from Brampton, it's not quite west-end enough to make it!

Hi

Good to see so many people popping up on this thread!

I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at noon! I'm sorry I don't have my Cuba pictures yet but maybe for next time!

We'll try another day in the west(ish) end sometime, but not on Sundays! Eddie, we'll miss you, and chefs and hummelda, we hope to hear from you again on the next thread!

Mary

Hi all,

I am going to try to join you today but I will likely be late -- hopefully around 12:30 or so (I'll have to shorten the kibbutzing after church). Keep a seat warm for me!!

Hi Mich!
Hope you're still here!
What about 1115?
Is that okay or too rushed?

No... I was something like a sushi wrap, but with prosciutto (or one could use nori/seaweed).

Still looking... I will type it out for you if I can't find the link, and I'll bring copies today.

Here's the recipe cut from word... I hope it is legible!

Credit for this recipe goes to someone lost on another forum, because I can't find my way back there... Since we're going to BWV, I am going to see if I can find some sliced prosciutto...yum!

Mary

“FAT BOMBS”

Ingredients:
· Cream cheese in bar form
· Wasabi (Japanese Mustard)
· Cucumber and Avocado, sliced into 1cm by 3cm pieces
· Prosciutto (dried pork) or Nori (Japanese seaweed)

· Either mix together cream cheese and a small amount of wasabi, or cut cream cheese into 2cm by 4cm pieces, and spread some wasabi on the side of the cheese
· Lightly press one slice of avocado and one slice of cucumber into the cream cheese
· Wrap with prosciutto or Nori

Alternates:
· Wrap with salmon lox
· Add crab, imitation crab, or small pieces of shrimp to the centre
· Top with sesame seeds and dip in teriyaki sauce
