I tried these also, and used Franks Hot Sauce, I thought they would be unbelievably hot but they weren't. I guess the butter mellows it out. THey were just spicy enough for me, and I'm not a lover of reallly hot stuff. I also tried blue cheese dressing, since I didn't have any ranch, and they are really tasty. Thanks Jon!

Thumbs up

This is very tasty. I made it for dinner last night... and had it again for breakfast. Definitely a keeper! In case anyone is interested, I ran the recipe through fitday and got the following counts for the entire recipe:

Calories 2,189
Fat 105 grams
Carbs 8 grams
Fiber 2 grams
Protein 287 grams

Net carbs... 6 for the entire recipe!!

I've made these twice in the past 2 weeks and they are awesome. I used Frank's hot sauce, and they weren' that spicy at that. Somehow the butter seems to offset the hot sauce. I tried some with ranch and some with blue cheese dressing. Awesome!!! Thanks Jon!

Awesome!!!!

Made them last night 1/18/05. I told my husband not to eat them as I had to run out of the house to drop our daughter off somewhere, I told him that I needed them all so that I could take the extra to work the next day and that he could have the breaded chicken strips in the freezer.

Well, he either didn't hear me say that or just ignored me, but when I got home he had eaten half of them and loved them... I was thrilled because he is not LCing, but should be... He won't eat LC, but will ususally eat anything I make (which now is only LC) so he probably just didn't want to get up and cook for himself.. ha ha ha.. I will have him losing weight in no time.

We dipped these in Blue Cheese our favorite dressing and they were so so so yummy!

Thank you so much for the receipe

Autumn

Thanks, Jon for the great recipe! I made these last night and they are wonderful - and I don't normally eat very spicy things! I couldn't stop eating these because they were so good - I've brought some for my lunch as well and I can't wait!!!

Kiwigal, I just 'guess-timated' at the 1/2 cube of butter and put in 1/4 cup - and I also only ended up using just over 1/2 cup of the hot sauce because that's what was left in the bottle that I had. Hope this helps you and you try this great recipe!

I'd just like to say that these are terrific! I've made them twice this week and last night my 13 year-old son who is the pickiest eater on earth had some - he kept coming back for more until there were none.

This chicken recipe is definitely a keeper.

When I made this I saved some of the chicken for an awesome bufffalo chicken salad the next day. 2 great meals from one recipe.. Can't beat that. Thanks a mill.

I'm a buffalo chicken addict!! Very pleased to find this recipe. However I keep wondering: peanut butter in a buffalo chicken recipe? I've never heard of this? Can you taste the peanut butter after it's cooked? What purpose dose the peanut butter serve? I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow and I'll be picking up some more chicken and some of Frank's Hot Sauce (my favorite) to try out this recipe.

I think the peanut butter gives the coating something to cling to. Can you taste the peanut butter? - Very faintly. This chicken is delicious. My son who tried some back in February asks me every week if I'm going to make "the peanut butter chicken" tonight. I haven't made it in a while, but one of these days again soon I keep promising him. Warning though - Make a double batch - it's that good.

{{{BUMP}}} This is still a winner in our house..I use Emerils wing sauce when I ran out of hot sauce and it was delicious... Give it a try.
