I thought I was doing Atkins but my Protien to Fat ratio is about 2:1. I have lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks so I am very satisfied with my loss. Should I be looking into Protien Power, I find what I am doing to be very easy to follow and my calories are around 1300 with no hunger.

Dazed, unless you're very small or very near your goal, or have less than 10% of your body weight to lose, calories aren't really a meaningful tool when following Protein Power. When I was in the first weight loss phase of PP, I regularly ate around 1400-1600 calories per day, which I only know because I used Fitday to track and calories are included in that program. Because of Fitday, I also know that when I spent too many days under 1400 calories, I stopped losing--counter-intuitive, I know, but that's what happened to me and happens to many others. BTW, I'm five feet tall, and started PP the first time at around 212 lbs. I lost around 45lbs before having to start cancer treatment (during which I wasn't supposed to lose weight.)

The key to Protein Power, besides keeping carbs under 40g/day or around 10g ECC per meal in Phase I, is to find out and consume your minimum recommended daily protein requirement every day. The quick way to compute that is to check your weight and height against the charts in Protein Power Lifeplan; there are more complex calculations in the original PP book, but they both give you a protein intake number to aim at.

As for my protein grams:fat grams ratio per day, it's usually pretty close to 1:1...I average around 100g protein per day, and around 90g fat, give or take. In percentages, that means about 30% of my calories were coming from protein, 55% were coming from fats, and 15% from carbs.

Just starting Protein Power today. It seems like a good plan, but kind of hard to figure out at first. I think I have it though. Might be asking lots of questions.

Weight fluctuates from day to day. It could be water, other bloating...A lot of folks don't weigh daily. I generally try to only weigh-in once a week, or less.

Patience is a good thing. ;-)
Seriously, you didn't gain all the weight in one week, and changing your eating habits for one week isn't necessarily going to give you an instant payoff, either. So give the program a little time to actually affect your system, and stick to the gameplan, and let it do what it can do.

Well said! It's so true. I am actually comforted by taking my time (versus having fast weight loss) because I am reassured it will STAY off better. It takes time for our bodies to adjust and it's the bigger picture that matters.

I'm glad! It's time to reconnect and get motivated again. I have to say the last week or so I slipped and felt "off" but today I'm back to tracking food carefully, making good choices AND setting up a new workout routine. I'm excited for a fresh start - hope you are too!

I've been on Atkins since June and my weight loss has slowed to like 4 pounds a month, so I'm figuring I'm not eating enough calories since I still have a lot to lose. I got the protein power books out of the library, and according to my calculations, I should eat about 40g of protein per meal. I tried that today with lunch, and adding in the 10 grams of carbs, it was a lot of food for me. Do I have to force it? Should I break it up in two different meals like every 2 to 3 hours or will that ruin things?

I don't think breaking it up into mini meals will ruin it at all. I think it's a GREAT idea. I actually prefer to eat a little at a time over the day than to sit down to a huge meal. As long as you're following the ideas of the plan, you'll get the benefits. I, for one, don't believe in the standard "three meals a day" approach and I continue to successful (I'm happy to say).
