As far as the way it makes me feel -- I'm doing great.

My pants are a little bit looser also. I don't have a scale, so I have to judge this by how loose my pants are. I've got some old pants that I'd love to fit into (they're still in great shape), but it would take a miracle to wear them. But thanks to a low carb diet, maybe that miracle will happen.

I'm probably not following the diet "exactly." And I'm not entirely sure how many carbs I've eaten, as I'm trying to eyeball them. I've also been eating mixed nuts in the evening. I figure that they are mostly fat and fiber.

I'm in this for the long haul and I'm looking at it as a lifestyle change, so I'm in no rush. I'm confident that the diet will eventually work.

Got room for one more? I am a stay at home mom of 4 children ages 11, 9 and twin 5 year olds. After having the twins, I just didn't seem to lose the weight. I have been doing Atkins since June 25th but have only lost 6 pounds. I think I may be doing something wrong. I really haven't cheated though! Any suggestions? I'm already tired of eggs, meat & cheese. My goal is to lose 40 pounds.

Maybe you could post a couple of days menus and we can see what is wrong.

God bless

I had never heard of fit day. I looked it up on the web and it looks very useful. I think I am too high in my calorie intake but I didnt think you had to watch calories on the Atkins Diet - only Carbs. Am I wrong? Plus I haven't been excercising at all. Too busy with driving kids to functions. I know that plays a part.

That sounds like a good idea! I would sure appreciate it! I will post menu tomorrow evening. Today was unusual. I had to take both my 5 year olds for their immunizations. (3 shots in each leg) - I think I am now deaf in one ear from holding them down while they screamed - ha!

Thanks for your help!

PS - Today my menu consisted of:

Breakfast: 2 eggs and 3 pieces of bacon
Snack: String cheese
Lunch: 1/2 cup manwich hamburger meat only (3 carbs) and a couple pieces of celery
Supper: Green salad with green peppers, lettuce, tomato and 1 tbspn bacon bits with dressing and 1 piece of grilled pork rib w/1 tbspn hickory barbeque sauce.

I probably have not been drinking enough water is one of the problems. I have had about 1 diet pop a day. I have also had a couple of the Russell Stover SUGAR FREE chocolates. (Less than 1 gram in a serving) I was just hoping for a little quicker weight loss! (I used a ketone stick and it says I am about "moderate".)

As always - God is Faithful!!!!!

Thank you for your kind encouragement. - I think for the first time in a long time - I don't feel all alone in this! My husband laughed when I got my first response. - I got a big grin and told him ..."I have a friend!" lol

Definitely make sure you are drinking enough water, But also, you might want to back off from the sugar free candy. And the barbeque sauce might be a problem. Ummm, I suggest using fitday.com. It will help you find hidden carbs; and calories do count to a certain degree. I mean if you consume too many calories you will have trouble. Normally, low carbing kind of lowers your appetite and you naturally don't eat as much but if you are consuming sugar free candy and sodas it might be triggering insulin and increasing your appetite? I hope this helps.
God bless,
Carolyn

Thanks happyhat! Today I'm going to focus on drinking more water and watching that I don't consume too many "sugar free: calories." We'll see where that takes me.
