Default will i get a period every month?

I started 25 mcg of cytomel last week, and got a period. I was wondering if this means that I will get one on a monthly basis now....I've never had that, usually 4-5 per year...this would be a huge shock lol..patty (I also take .1mg of levothyroxine)

Hmmm... usually lack of a period is a symptom of hyperthyroidism while heavy bleeding goes the other way. But thyroid is used by every system in the body so you're likely to see changes to just about everything, your menstral cycle included. I know my cycle streatched out an extra 3 days after I started Armour thyroid.

Hi Patty:

My cycles weren't as bad a yours, but they have begun to normalize. I was having a period, but I wasn't ovulating properly or I'd have a really long follicular phase with a short luteal phase.

Not every month is normal yet, but it's getting better.

LOL, just remember that having a normal cycle is a good thing....
