Default Sub Sandwich Bowl

Wow. So I invented something today. Well, I've been working on it slowly, but today it finally got a name.

My favorite food is sandwiches. I just love how fresh and good they are, but those breads just kill yah. I know you can just eat it LC if you minus the bread, but there is something missing when you don't get that "bready" flavor. And if you only use one slice cut in half it gets messy and looks small.

So. Welcome to the Sub Sandwich bowl. My new favorite.

Wonderbread has this awesome line out. It's called Wonderbread light- only 7 carbs a slice and only 40 calories!! It comes in white, wheat, italian & sourdough. I highly recommend the italian & sourdough for these (italian has sesame seeds for an added treat).

So the basic premise is that you get all your fixings you would put on your sandwich. Then dice everything. (I left out lettuce, as to not make it a salad, per se). I sprayed the slice of bread with spray butter and toasted it, then cut it into crouton like shapes. Toss together in a bowl, and voila! Taste just like a sandwich. I heated mine up so it was like a Quizno's sandwich.

My ingredients:

Deli Turkey
slices Avocado
1 slice swiss cheese
1/4 Tomato
1 slice onion
1 tsp Mayo
1 slice Wonderbread light Italian

Cals: 240
Carbs: 10
Pro: 25

Sound delicious! Thank you for the recipe!

I have seen the wonder bread light in white and wheat. Now I need to look for the other two!

I was thrilled to find a store bought somewhat low carb white bread, finally!
