You only want to lose 17 pounds. So if you lost more than 1.7 pounds (10% of that) during Induction, you were above reasonable expectations. Now you are already at more than double that loss. So that's very losing very well indeed.

It is very usual and normal to not lose anything in Weeks 3 & 4, even if you stay at Induction Levels. So you might as well go up in carb levels. With only 14 pounds to go, Ongoing Weight Loss and even PreMaintenance levels would be advisable.

Your goal is reasonable for someone 5'3" ih height. But being so close to goal already, you are not going to lose lots of pounds quickly. However, there are lots of hidden health benefits that LC will give you while you slowly lose.

Also, LC losers tend to be a bit heavier than low cal losers, because we keep and even add muscle mass while losing fluffy fat. Keep with the plan and the pounds will go.

Default I think it's normal (but good to be reminded!)

I'm your same height (a little bigger, of course)...
I'm almost done with my 4th week, and 4 pounds looks like all I'm going to get out of it too. (I'm doing a modified plan since I'm still nursing). But it really is what should be expected - especially since you are so close to your goal already. (I know it seems like snails pace, but would you rather lose muscle just to get the numbers down faster?)
Keep going! You'll get there. 2 pounds a month might be more like it. Keep your expectations real!

thanks for the encouragement, tofi.
i was planning to do the first phase at 30 carbs for the full 6 weeks as the eades suggest, but may add 6 oz of yoghurt for breakfast and possibly a little more fruit.
