Default 15 minute coffee rule

Hey ya'll-
I've seen the rule cited here that coffee with cream must be drunk within 15 minutes. I have both the CAD and CALP books, and can't find it in either. Can somebody tell me where it is?

With all the other changes I've had to make on this program, I really can't face giving up my morning coffee right now. I have two cups with splenda and about a tablespoon of milk. I'm hoping to cut back to one cup eventually. Since a tablespoon of milk is less than 1 gram of carbohydrate, I don't see how it could be that much of a problem.

Confusing! Thanks!

Hi!

I donīt think eating or drinking anything too long is good for us CADDIES, but I for instance often have creme/milk one or twice a day in my coffee.

I have one rule: Never cold coffee unless it is ice coffee.

15 minutes? The coffee will get cold, so perhaps just donīt sitt and sip for ages you probably will be fine. Meditate over herbal tea?

I remember before finding CAD I was still overweight living on a small meal a day, very little but had coffee cups all over my home and working area. So having 2 cups with creme/milk (e.i. carbs) is my limit. Perhaps it comes from the healthy heart books I have not read yet.

Best check with the other girls too, and listen to your heart ♥. Keep us posted!

I am re-reading CAD these past couple of weeks, so I just happended to read it yesterday. I know it is definitely elsewhere in the book, but you can find it in chapter 6 More about the Diet
(p117 in my old paperback) under the heading Other foods, where do they fit in?

It's all about insulin release. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Don't know how I missed it.

I guess I am going to have to learn to drink black coffee <sigh>.
