Jerry, I'm really sorry to hear that you are sick!

If you don't feel like eating, maybe it's best not to.

On the other hand, your body needs the fuel--and good fuel at that--to heal itself.

You could make a batch of the chicken soup. That goes down easily and you don't have to worry about the carbs.

Poor thing! Hope you feel better soon. --Betty

When I feel like that, I go for hot and sour soup. It has chicken broth for the enzymes, vinegar for the acidity that soothes your throat (works like lemon juice), and pepper that helps clear your sinuses. And it tastes so good.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks to both of you. I became hungry later and ate. My throat is still soar. I think we have two different viruses in my house. I have a son who is very congested. Mine is mostly my throat. I just wondered if there was an opinion about what to do.
It looks like both of you have made progress? If so congratulations to you both. I am going by memory but it looks like both of you have lost since I last read a post from you.

A lot of times a virus will strike the weakness in your system. A throat instead of head congestion for example. I used to get sore throats from viruses all the time when my kids were little. They would stuff up and I would get tonsilitus. Fixed that problem by getting my tonsils out at the age of 30. (That was a fun time. )
The point is every body has a weak spot. We are vunerable to any bug or virus that comes along. Even if you don't eat make sure you drink lots of extra water to flush the uggie buggies from your system.

One side is stuffed up and the other isn't. The things we share.
