Post Supplements to help with low blood sugar?

Hi,

I've been trying low carb seriously for about two weeks now, but am having serious bouts of low blood sugar (when I test it's in the 60's). I've always had low blood sugar, so it's not caused by the diet, but I can't function this way. I hate to give up because I have lost weight already--is there something you guys know of that will facilitate the fat/protein to energy conversion? Or help my brain use ketones?

I think I am eating enough food and often enough--my brain just wants its glucose!

I have tried the usual supplements recommended (chromium, vanadium, gymnesta, etc.), but they all tend to LOWER my blood sugar. Please help, before I collapse!

How much protein are you eating, and are you eating protein with every meal? Because keeping your protein level up is usually the best thing to keep your blood sugar stable.

Also, if you give us a sample day's worth of food, we will be able to give you more suggestions.

Low blood sugar is usually an indication of an overly enthusiastic insulin response to high blood sugar. Low carb is the perfect solution because you won't have the high blood sugar that leads to the over-reaction of insulin. Are you checking blood sugars with a meter or are you just going by how you feel?
