I don't know if I am doing this correct or not. I purchased the Atkins book and began the diet on June 16th. After 6 days I had lost 10 pounds. I have not weighed since. I know that sounds silly but...I haven't finished reading the book yet but have really been impressed with the diet. I have yet to be hungry and am eating things I haven't eaten in ages (like bacon and fried eggs) on the other side I am not eating things I used to crave but without "withdrawal." I am still doing the induction phase since I haven't reached the next phase in reading the book. I am glad to see that there are others out there doing the same.

Smile New to this also

I am new to this also. I have been "lurking" for a couple of days and decide to join. I have been on the Atkins diet since July 5th, 2001 and have lost 17#. It is motivating to read the success stories.

Gosh!! I am encouraged to weigh in myself. Are you finding it difficult to eat out? We were invited out to Olive Garden and I didn't know what I could eat on the menu??? So I ate the salad and didn't know about the dressing. I have so many food questions but figured I should finish reading the book before I started asking questions. Thanks for the reply.

I have eaten out a couple times since I have been on the diet. Usually steak or hamburger without the bun and salads.

It takes awhile to get used to eating out. Most of all don't be afraid to ask the wait staff questions. I substitue a nice salad for all the side dishes (usually without extra cost) and just ask for steak, burger, chicken or fish that is baked, grilled or broiled. Some look at you like you have two heads when you have them take back the basket of bread and/or the crackers and spread. As in most things if you ask real nice they will probably say yes! Lots of luck

hey dizz and melissah! i just wanted to welcome you both! congratulations on your weight loss. you're both doing really well! good for you!! keep it up! you've found a really terrific sight, here!
a favourite thing that i eat when i'm out is a chicken caesar salad. just get them to give you a broiled chick breast on top of your caesar salad. nix the croutons! most places have this on their menus. we often make this at home for a quick dinner as well!
