Default Kim Kim is still around?

I got an ad in my spam from Kimkims saying "Kim kims is back"

I thought this woman was exposed for scamming people with her
fake pictures and dangerous low carb/low fat plan.

I wasn't aware of it still being in business. But it is now called Kimkins 3.0.
Not only that but they also have a FB page.
I'm sure they think that enough time has passed and newbies out there trying so hard to lose weight, won't know about their scam.

So for any newbies that don't know the story, buyer beware! You don't need to pay this nut job money when you can do this on your own for free.

I remember Kimkins, but I don't remember the scamming part. Going to google it now.

History of Kim
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimkins
http://www.3fatchicks.com/kimkins-a...of-a-diet-scam/

She was back last Sept when Laura Dolson updated the story: http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/po...kimkinsdiet.htm

I can't believe she is back!
$59.95 for a "Lifetime Membership" Her Diet plans include Slimfast shakes and McDonald's salads...something anyone could do by reading any low carb book.

Thanks, Jey. That is really crazy - how could they make a comeback after something like that?

I thought this was absurd until I realized... that was a long time ago now. At least in terms of modern pop-culture/internet attention span. It's not like it was some kind of national scandal - other than those of us involved on nutrition/health/weight loss forums and blogs, who would have followed through on the story regarding her scamming? Even if it made a few conventional media headlines in passing, who would remember if it didn't mean anything to them at the time?

Wait long enough, and there's always a new, fresh crop of desperate people to prey upon.

"Kimmer" was a national scandal for Woman's Day magazine, which featured her in one of their issues (right before her $1,200,000 best month ever) but yeah, people have short memories. Before long Dr. Oz will probably invite her on his show :s

Ah yes, the great Kimmer scandal.

Unfortunately Jimmy Moore's name will forever be tainted by his too long involvement with this woman and her appalling business practices. He did eventually apologize to the low carb community, but not before some pretty bad behaviour on his part. Which is why I will never be a fan of Mr Moore.

But let us hope that this time Heidi Diaz (her real name) doesn't get to scam too many more desperate, innocent people.

Yeah boy the whole "I stole pictures off russian brides for sale websites and claimed they were my clients, while advising people to starve themselves ridiculously to the point of laxative flushing, all in my 'successful expertise', while I was really fat sitting at home pretending to be someone skinny" seemed like it was something that might be hard to get past.

But you're right, the public has a short memory.

I love the REAL picture of KimKim....she obviously was not woman enough to follow her own program. I can't believe she has the nerve to show her face again.

Maybe she's not. I'm sure she's still stealing pictures of other people.

Yeah, I only know of it second hand from reading wl forums and I've been doing lc since '99, off and on. I never really read lcf though, so I didn't come across her.

There is a nice couple in Australia who run a LCHF group on FB who have had great success with just lists of what to eat vs. what not to eat and their pictures have been stolen for promotion of all kinds of things. They've each done really well and are all about making it a life no matter whether you lose fast or slowly. The woman had been very sick with diabetes and hypertension and of course is now nice and healthy. She is strikingly beautiful so her pics have started popping up in promotion of things she would never approve of.

So the point is, it's super easy to steal images and abuse them.
