Default Yates Wine Lodge - Atkins menu

I watched Tonight with Trevor McDonald last night, another Atkins scaremongering, but I did find out 1 useful thing that Yates has an Atkins menu!
I was totally unaware of this as when I meet my chums in town for lunch once a week I really struggle to find something to eat and 9 times out of 10 I end up with the same old salad!
Has any-one tried this menu?
If so, any reports?
What dishes do they do?
Have they counted the carbs for you?

Cheers

No, but I'd love to try.

Where is Yates Wine Lodge, is it part of a chain? I've never heard of them but if it's part of a chain and they have one in Surrey ...

Thank you, I'm awed by the amount of information available on this forum.

Theres one in Woking just off Chertsey Road ( oppo Mc d's ) and also one in Guildford on bridge street opposite Wetherspoons..

Can anyone confirm they are doing this menu at all yates - planning to meet my g-friend in Wimbledon after work one day this week and it would be ideal if this is on the menu

Why don't you give the pub a call and check their menu? They'll be able to tell you best of all.

I went to the Yates in Southampton last week (it's on Above Bar Street, just up from the Marlands centre). I had the "Chicken Burger" which comprised a grilled chicken breast smothered in melted cheese, snadwiched between two 6oz beefburgers. I can't remember what it came with, probably salad but I felt it was reasonable value for money (£5.99 I think it was) and enjoyed being able to order a meal without having to make a dozen modifications. They also do that Michelob Ultra if you need a lowish-carb beer but that would rather blow my carb-budget so I had fizzy water. There were a couple of other items on the menu, umm I think a mixed-grill and a steak option but no puddings.

Have been a couple of times now in bournemouth and basingstoke. The chicken burger is very nice (and incredibly filling!), but the steak salad is a bit disappointing- iceberg lettuce is too much like rabbit food for me (give me a nice bit of spinach, rocket and watercress any day).

The other things available are a fried breakfast type thing and a mixed grill type thing, haven't tried either of them yet as i think i'll need to starve myself for a day or two first!

Prices are reasonable (£5- £9), but there are no starters or desserts on the menu, and no carb counts, so they could be using really cheap burgers with loads of rusk and you are none the wiser.

Still it's a step in the right direction - if only to avoid the puzzled look i get when i ask for 'no chips, thanks'!

I went in a Yates's on Friday and pinched the Lo-carb Menu.
If someone could tell me how to scan and post it I will.

Iknow how to scan, just can't post it
