Yeah, I wasn't too sure how to interpret the protein stuff, so I'll just go with you on this one.

As for the fat, I don't think we can put it aside so easily, not even for a discussion on protein. I'm thinking of the effect of dietary fat on protein metabolism. For example, glycerol, which reduces the need for other substrates for glucose production. Or, fat-solubles for red blood cells or overall energy metabolism. We're talking about 10g fat vs 150g fat, that's a huge potential effect. I'm not sure about this relationship between dietary fat and dietary protein but I think it's something to consider when we're talking about protein, especially since protein is already so low to begin with here, 50g/day or something.

Yeah me too. When I was a kid, one winter our neighbour told the world he was going to be the first to travel by kicksled to some other town I don't remember which, or maybe the first to do it under some time limit or other. He lived just next door.

He cheated, at some point, like, gave up midway and took the bus. I've been rather sceptical of grandiose claims ever since.

As Frank Zappa would say, "Oh Bobby, I'm sorry you have a head like a potato. I really am."

A person who has to broadcast what they are doing to the world appears, to me at least, to be primarily interested in the fame or notoriety rather than the activity. As is clear on this forum, there are a lot of us who go about our business pursuing health and weight loss in a variety of different ways without needing to proclaim it to the greater world. We come here mostly for information and support, not to garner attention and fame although what many here have accomplished is quite extraordinary and worthy of attention, if only to show what is possible when you are determined, informed and able to find your own path through the thickets of misinformation that can easily trap people.
