Has anyone found Dreamfields Pasta anywhere in Edmonton? Alberta? Canada?

I hear that Dreamfield's pasta is really good. Usually that means it's not available in Canada.

I haven't seen it anywhere yet...but let me know if you find out.

I asked at the Low Carb Gallery (51 Ave) today, and the owner told me that she can't bring it is yet because of "labelling issues". <sigh>

She did say, however, that next week she will have FRESH locally made low-carb pasta. I think it has 4.x g of carb per 100g of cooked pasta. Might be alright, but I really really really want Dreamfields!

I saw a commercial on CTV (Canadian Network, during Canadian Idol shhhh, don't tell!) they only show Canadian commercials and I saw a 30 second spot saying to look for it in the pasta isle. "The one in the black box" is what the ad said....so I'd say that it's coming soon!

I live about an hour from the border, so I went to the States and bought some recently. It's pretty good, though I have to confess, I had some last night and noticed that I felt kind of gassy and bloated most of the night. I wondered if whatever they do to the pasta to make it low in net carbs could be the culprit.

I read somewhere on a message board, maybe this one, that Sobeys is supposed to have it by the end of June.

I haven't noticed Dreamfields yet, but the Lo-Carb Delight on Whyte Avenue (Edmonton) has fresh LC pasta - made in Calgary. I haven't worked my way up to grains yet, so I'm hoping to hear from someone who has tried it.

Hello Again!

Edited to add:

Here's some info on it that was emailed to me:

Quote:
And Derek and I also want to announce a new Pasta – it arrived last Sunday and we made it up and sampled it yesterday. A chef from Calgary has played with the ingredients for over a year to get a good tasting, high protein and low carb Pasta. He did it! Soon he was on T.V. cook shows and sending his pasta out to major restaurants in the U.S. For protein, it has 28.8 grams compared to 10 grams for regular. For calories, it has 131 compared to 301 for regular and only 4.24 grams of carbs compared to 63 grams for regular pasta.

It’s priced well at $4.99 for each package – spaghetti, angel hair and lasagna (which has multi pasta uses). One lasagna package will make two 9x13 Pastas! The others will feed 2 to 3 people. We will also be offering this in our Bistro and take home. Our sandwiches and salads we introduced were absolutely delicious too!

I was the one who posted about finding the Dreamfields at Loblaws in Toronto.
I bought some penne, I don't plan on eating it for awhile...but it feels nice to have it in my pantry!

Found it at Zehr's in Woodstock today in with the regular pasta. In a black box, four different kinds, spaghetti, fettucini, rotini and forget the other one. 454 g for 3.99. Bought the spaghetti for future use.

I found some today in Ottawa at the Loblaws at College Square (8 grams of net carbs). They had spaghetti, penne, and pasta elbows.
