Default Your thoughts on Garcinia Cambogia?

Been seeing a lot about this extract. Hydroxycitric Acid. Lots of fake dr. Oz sites are saying he promoted it, along with those raspberry ketones hahaha.

But ive read a little about Hydroxycitric Acid. What are your thoughts?

Just Eat Real Food.

"our thoughts" are not important....it has already been studied, published in JAMA, and there was NO impact on weight loss:

Every now and then I jump on a band wagon for some supposed weight loss supplement. Consistently, they never work. NEVER! Not once. You'd think that one time out of my 54 years that one of them would work, even a placebo effect.

Nope.

I agree with Janet...Eat real food. Stick to plan.
If there were a magic bullet then every body would be thin, healthy and the perfect weight.
I'd spend the $$ on food.

Progress not perfection.

I can get it on Ebay for under $5 shipped and I thought maybe I'd give it a try, but forget it. That $5 could go to buying me something else I'd much rather have like a RAMMS+EIN t-shirt--my favorite band! In one size smaller than what I wear now, as incentive, hee hee. Thanks for your answers.

I tried it, no it doesn't work. Neither does that so called African Mango (Irvingia), 7 Keto DHEA, Fucoxanthin, and dozens of others.

Stick to your plan, control the amount of calories you consume, and burn off as many as you can with moderate exercise. This will work better than a handful of pills.

Sad, but true. We's all like an easier way to do it and we'd all like instant gratification.

Bob

I took it at the levels suggested (2 caps before meals 3 times a day) for a month...but as I've said with most weight loss supplements, it's hard to tell when you are eating less than 20carbs a day. I haven't been taking anything for the past week - get lots of high quality product free from work - and I am definitely stalled compared to what I usually lose....but that could be from many factors, I guess.

I just finished up a bottle of Fucothin Green by Garden of Life.
The previous month I had the patented Super Citrimax product (garcinia + chromium).
I actually DO have a bottle of raspberry ketones, but those are particularly sketchy so I haven't decided if I'll use them or not. 99% of those that are on the market are not from REAL raspberry ketones but are synthetic....even in the natural supplements industry. Real raspberry ketones are a super expensive raw ingredient -- $65k per kilo I hear -- and to even put them in supplement form would be an astronomical cost for most companies.

Janet, thanks for posting the link to that study. Won't bother trying this supplement.

The Eades (Protein Power) sold a supplement called pentabosol that included garcinia. The five ingredients were supposed to work synergistically together to increase weight loss. It did nothing for me and for most others. Some people said it did work, but they were on a low carb diet simultaneously so ... who knows?

There were pretty negative reviews on it here, where the Eades are generally revered and adored.

Now they've added more ingredients to the mix and call it metabosol. I haven't heard any reviews.

I'm one of those who actually tried the metabosol since I was in a long stall (still am, years later) and adored the Eades. But as usual it did absolutely nothing for me.

The only thing I ever tried besides Atkins that actually worked for me was a diet called KLB6 back in the 70s.

It was a combo of Kelp, Lecithin, B6 and vinegar. The kelp was to speed metabolism, the lecithin was to emulsify the fat, B6 is a diuretic and I think the vinegar was to cleanse. I did lose weight on that combo.
