Are evaporated milk and cornstarch allowable?

Hi!
Cornstarch is a definite no-no. But evaporated milk is allowable. I found a substitute for cornstarch at sugarfreekitchen.com, that is made of ground water chestnuts. Its good in most main dishes, but I'm not at all sure how it would work for desserts.

Thanks I was just making sure tonight my parents had a cornstarch gravy and I wasn't sure!

Default Hi LB Dropper ...

You can use ArrowRoot or Guar Gum to thicken gravy ... I also use WW Pastry Flour with good results.
