Default slim fast meal shakes

I added the slim fast meal shakes, in the chocolate royale flavor, and even though I entered the fiber count, and the sugar alcohols, it still gives me the carb count of 6 per 11 oz serving when it should be 2.. I am wondering then, how many other entered foods, do not have the right fiber/sugar alcohol deductions, and how do I check to see if the fiber/sugar alcohols have already been deducted (for my daily account of carbs)so I stay on track???

as always.. thanks

The key to finding out if the manufacturer had subtracted the fiber or not, is by seeing if the calories add up. Our database contain the USDA analytical data, containing carbs by difference (which usually includes fiber).

If you think an item should have less carbs declared, you can enter a custom value in the PECC field. Thsi is generally the case with diet products, as they subtract fiber, sugar alcohol, glycerine and things like that.

Hi Diana,

We might be talking about completely different issues. Initially, I just tried to explain how to add PECC value, to adjust for the manufacturer's label.

So to be able to really see the problem, why don't you list the label information from the product, and tell me what you say MyPlan is not reporting correctly. Just so I can see if there is a problem.

I am sure it is reporting correctly.. I am just doing something wrong.. I am sure..

okay.. so it says on the can- 4 grams total, -2 for fiber, ends with a net of 2 carbs per can (11 oz).. when I use it for a meal, it gives me 17 grams of carb. and MAJOR calories.. so i know I have added it wrong.. if you could explain what I did.. I will fix it.

Dianna, if all the numbers seem inflated, this maybe due to entering the correct data from the label, but choosing the wrong serving size.

Since the label is for 11 fl oz., re-create the item by choosing a serving size of fluid ounce, and 11 as the number of servings. Then enter the data from the label. This should list the data correctly for a cup, a liter and fluid ounce. When you enter it in the entry page, you can also do the same, 11x 1 fluid ounce.

Another option is to enter a custom size for 1 can. Either method should work.
