I noticed that when MyPLAN calculates the macronutrient ratio percentages, it's assuming fiber has the same number of calories as starch/sugar carbs. Not a big deal, but the more fiber you eat, the greater the error. If you glance at it and think your carb ratio looks way too high, you're probably right! Just something to be aware of.

Not sure I understand. The more fiber you eat, the calories are still attributed to fat, protein and carbs.

Was their a particular item that shows some strange percentages?

Sorry, I didn't explain that too well. Suppose someone consumed 100 g fat, 60 g protein, 40 g total carbs of which 20 were fiber. That's 1220 calories. By percent calories, that should be 74% fat, 20% protein, 6% fat. But it's displaying as if the fiber has calories, ie a total of 1300 calories: 69% fat, 18% protein, and 12% carbs.

By the way, I'm just referring to the percentages in the green tool bar next to the date, below the link to this forum.

I see what you mean. The descrepancy is there, but it has nothing to do with the fiber. This is due to the nitrogen factor used in calculating the calories, where using the 4-4-9 formula is too rounded in many cases, and the calories will not add up to the 4-4-9 claculation.

The calories shown in the detailed nutritional information is based on the nitrogen factor data, while the graphs are generated based on the 4-4-9 formula. In most cases you will not notice the difference, but in some cases, where the specific food item is way off the 4-4-9 formula, the difference in the percentages will be noticable.

Will see if we can avoid this
