Default amount of food!

Hi All!

I just thought I'd post given that i'm at goal weight... even though it looks like people just keep posting in the main forum...

Question: I'm struggling with the fact that I can eat more than when I losing weight. This seems very weird to me... Has anyone else experienced this?

Congratulations, Viv, on reaching your goal weight!

As you can see, I still have a few pounds to go to reach my goal, but I've been checking out this board to help prepare for the issues that will undoubtedly come up when the focus shifts from losing weight to holding steady.

You say you're struggling with the fact that you can eat more now... is it that the number of calories you can eat and hold your weight steady is so much more than you imagined?

YES! Most definately! I eat like a HORSE! And I'm still 115! It's incredible... I don't get it!

Default struggles with maintenance

Hi All! I'm posting this exchange because it really helped me see that maintenance just like losing is an adjustment.

Thank you lattegrl! I really needed to hear that, I was feeling like a freak and a little attacked by people still losing wondering why I was concerned with calories. Thank you.

Maintenance, just like losing, is an adjustment and takes time. I haven't yet gotten used to eatting and maintaining - those two concepts just haven't melted together yet.

I did try not counting for 16 days... but then i got nervous... I'm trying to stay under 1500 but yesterday I ate 1700. At least, it was lower than 1900. It's a start.
