Not sure I would register anything on a keto stix; been doing Atkins for many months. Does anyone have the recipe from dr. K's book for the nut bread? I just finished reading this extremely long thread and none of the links to the homodiet site work. I will try to buy the book if the publisher in Poland is still operating.

Ok, I just did some peeing and I am still very much in ketosis. I ate potato with dinner so I'll check a stix again in the am. How long does it take to get out? I started the ratios 5 days ago but eating only 32 net carbs. That was according to the lose weight ratio.

Should be immediate. The idea isnt to stay out of ketosis all the time, only most. You should be able to go in and out really easily.

If you eat zero carbs all day, then eat all your carbs right before you go to sleep, itll really help the fat loss.

Nut Bread - page 160 of Optimal Nutrition.
P 10.2g, F 438g, C 5.6g ratio 1:4.3:0.5 475 kcal

"Butter a pie pan generously and sprinkle on some breadcrumbs. Take 18 ounces of hazelnuts and, using a food processor, turn them into something like a thick nut butter. Add a tablespoon (just under an ounce) of breadcrumbs, 4 tablespoons of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder and a half teaspoon of nutmeg. Mix well. Mix in 15 eggs and half a cup of cream. Continue mixing the dough. Add 9 ounces of melted butter and mix.
Put the dough into the bread pan, leaving 1.25 inches at the top of the mold to allow the dough to rise. Bake for about 40 minutes. After turning off the oven, leave the bread inside to allow it to cool gradually. The bread has the appearance and consistency of whole-wheat bread. It can be eaten like any other bread with fatty meats, fried eggs or butter and cold-cuts".

Thank you, thank you! Ok, one more question about the ratios. Do I use ideal weight to figure it out or height? That's what is messing with my brain. I've read about both. Also, I am going to a conference next week for four days. What is the best/fattiest meat to eat out? I will take some HF chocolate, HWC and stuff like that with me to supplement my fat. I might even take my Kerry Gold butter! Any suggestions as far as food to order?

Hi, ratios are independent of your height and weight. Roughly you eat three grams of fat for each gram of protein, with one half gram of carbs. Ribeye is a great choice. If you eat 60 grams of protein a day, you would need 180 grams of fat, and 30 grams of carbs. So I am guessing, eat half a baked potato loaded with butter and sour cream, to go with the steak.

Ribeye is hands down my favorite cut of meat. I like them bloody, with salt and pepper, drowned in butter. Bacon is a close second.

Hi folks.

As some of you know, this forum has a policy of closing threads once they reach 2000 posts. This is because super long threads slow down the forum too much.

When someone has started a new thread, I'll post the link here.

You can find the new thread here: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=451913
