Default recent inline adds refocusing page

FWIW, Recent adds, particulary Arby's adds seem to be refocusing my btowswer page on them when the fire for no particular reason I can figure out. Making makes scrolling on the current page problematic as the focus keeps jumping to the add space on the page.

OSX 10.12.5 and Chrome Version 58.0.3029.110 (64-bit)

hello Mr.Thud

Sorry you're having problems with an ad . There's a sticky thread near the top of the list here in Comments Box, called Objectionable advertising. Please follow the instructions in that thread (be sure to read all of the posts, as there are a few more tips in some of the replies ).

Hopefully the problem can be fixed easily.

I have no problem with the "content" of the ads you can run hardcore porn for all I can, I can also block add content but i tought I might help fix it - this is a technical display issue I believe.. i'll see if I can get a screen shot movie to demonstrate is better. I first noticed the problem about a month ago IIRC.

I'll describe the behaivour.

- Browsing a page when suddenly you hear an ads audio start running without interacting with the ad

- the focus of the page "auto scrolls" to the banner ad that has started "on it's own"

- Trying to move away from that part of the page by scrolling and you'll be snapped back to the section of the page with the running banner ad

I suspect it's a browser version/os version update and only certain

update, when things are about to go horribly wrong - I'll see a broken Good Ad Choices add that will look like this. I missed the error in Google's inspector but it seems to be related to a problem between the add server and youtube.com where perhaps the content is stored. I've cleared the browser history from the begining of time to see if it's perhaps some cached javascript or something on my end, quite possible...

Anyone else see this apparently broken add show up, advertising nothing...

Irony of ironies, i'm getting a looping Arby's add on Windows7 and latest google chrome while I'm typing this. Message fires without intervention. So puzzling. Here's a screen shot...

Brining this up again. Asking if anyone else is seeing this issue where some adds (the only ones that appear to be doing it are Arby's add and Saxenda add that looks like this...

Hijacking the focus of the web browser on the page, they are auto playing and scrolling to the part of the page that has the add, locking in focus. What I mean by that is if you try to scroll the page away from the area that's displaying the add, a few seconds later the browser pages back to the area again.

This makes reading the content of a page that has one of these adds near impossible

I've got the ability to make a small movie of this. Wondering if anyone else is having this issue. I also have a work-a-round I can share but it's very hacky.

Thanks!

No, I've not had the issue. Your reactive skills are way beyond mine!

OK, this will be the last post on this subject. I've installed AdBlock for Chrome until I hear that the issue has been resolved. I'll be happy to retest if you contact me directly via PM or respond to this thread which I have subscribed to.

I have also taken a movie if the issue you can see below. Again, it's only happening on 2 specific adds but it makes page navigation nearly impossible.

hello again Mr. Thud

I haven't been able to replicate your problem here on the forum or our host site, lowcarb.ca .. and I have tried multiple times, on different days .

That being said .. I noticed something in the images and the video. The problematic ads have a red symbol at the top right corner "Ads by _____" I don't recognize it. To the best of my knowledge, we only support Google Adsense, which you can see there's the familiar blue symbol at the top right of those ads.

When I hover my mouse over the blue Google ad symbol anywhere on our site(s), the status bar along the bottom of my screen shows google.com/adsense/support ... bla bla, big long string of text. What url link shows when you hover over the mystery red symbol in the problem ads?

Alternatively, you could try clicking on the symbol, to see what advertising company is hosting the ad.
