Hi folks, I would love to order some of the davinci sugar-free syrups from the co-op but my problem is that i don't have much idea what i can use these syrups in. Please, please, would ones who have used them and enjoyed them give me some ideas what you used them for and kinds of recipes you have made. I'm waiting with baited breath to hear because I can't wait to try them.

Default Dierdre's pancake recipe for syrup

You have to try the Pork Rind French Toast!! It's more like pancakes than
french toast and tastes amazing! My husband is now addicted to them. He
didn't believe me when I told him they were made with pork rinds.

Here's the recipe - I double it and use a whole bag of pork rinds, crush
them in the food processor or blender.

Pork Rind French Toast

1.5 oz. pork rinds (1/2 of a 3-oz. bag)
2 eggs
1/4 cup cream
2 packets sweetener (I use Splenda)
Cinnamon to taste (I use 1/2 tsp)

Pulverize the pork rinds. Mix the eggs, cream, sweetener and cinnamon
together. Stir in the pork rinds. Let sit for 5 minutes, until the
mixture
is thick and goopy. Spoon into a buttered skillet and fry on both sides.

Serve with butter and SF syrup.

Low Carb Pancakes

3 Eggs, separated
½ cup Sour Cream
1 Tablespoon Sugar Substitute
¼ cup almond flour
¼ teaspoon salt

Beat egg yolks. Add sour cream, sugar, flour, and salt. Fold in stiffly
beaten egg whites. Cook on griddle by small spoonfuls, browning both sides.

From: James

This recipe isn't mine, but I have modified it so it is amazing. I have
tried a number of lo-carb pancakes, cheese pancakes..and they just aren't
"cakey" enough. These are..and really filling.
James

Excellent Pancakes

4 large eggs (2.4)
2 T oil
2 T water
1/2 c soy protein isolate (depends on brand-generic is
4carbs, Supro is zero carbs)
1/2 t salt
1 t baking powder (between 2 and zero depending on brand)
4T heavy cream (2)

Put the soy protein in a bowl and add the water first....stir until it
forms a granular texture.
Add the oil and stir until it forms a granular texture (This is to prevent
major lumping which occurs if you throw everything into the bowl at once).
Add salt and baking powder..stir.
Lightly beat the eggs and then add them to the bowl.
Stir to get most of the lumps out.
Now add the heavy cream.
If you like a thin batter (I do) add another 4T of water.

Fry like regular pancakes. Makes about 18-20 (3" pancakes).

Carbs for entire recipe (10.4 - 4.4 depending on the brands you use)
either way..half to 3/4 of the recipe is filling enough.

Is something wrong with the board? I posted a reply to this earlier today and poof its not here

Anyway.. I love the syrups! I use them in my coffee, protein drinks, ice cream, snow cones and just anything that I want added flavor to.

Here's what I think. Winners has a special strategy in products rotation, and as food items are not on the top of their lists, chances are they may not order more, they'll just look for other products to "rotate."

However, I've seen a few coffee shops and some of the fancy gourme soupermarkets (the ones with coffee bars like Urban fair in Vancouver) carry them.

And for those who can't find them locally, don't forget that IslandGirl can ship them to you

i must say "buy from island girl!" i just received an order from her; davinci syrups. island girl was very helpful and accommodating. i will definitely deal with her again. check out her site. she has a few other products as well. the price she shows is the price you pay. she has already figured the exchange into her price.

You can also make Italian sodas...

Mix the syrup with ice and soda or mineral water and float a layer of whipping cream on top. Strawberry and coconut is a great combo. Very Pina Colada-like, especially with a squeeze of lime.

Ah, but Tinakaye, you're American aren't you?! These companies charge us Canadians astronomical shipping charges, not to mention the poor exchange rate.

I managed to get one bottle of Amaretto flavour at Winners quite a while ago, haven't been back to check lately.

There is also a similar product called Oscar syrups, I believe they are a Canadian company, their website is
http://www.oscarsyrup.com/

I haven't tried them and it doesn't say what kind of sweetener they use though.

I use it for flavouring protein shakes, in baking, ice cream...

They use aspartame I find them at most coffee shops easily, they may not have all sugar-free flavours, but the shop can order some for you.

Hi....I'm from B.C. and I buy the Torani brand sugar free syrups. There a few Coffee Bars here in town that carry the syrups and will order ones in for the customers.I have made a "Snickers Bar" coffee or protein shake and they are both delicious.I've also thickened the caramel syrup with some guar gum & it made a nice sauce for custrads or LC icecream.
