Default Peanut Butter allowed during induction?

I am on day 4 of induction. I had 2 table spoons of peanut butter today and yesterday. 2 tablespoons is about 6 g of carbs. Am I still allowed to have peanut butter during induction even if I dont' go over 20g a day??? Even if I wasn't allowed to have the peanut butter, does that mean my whole 4 days of induction is screwed up???

Elly

Hi Roxych1ck,

I did that on my first time on induction and I think that is what stalled my weight los, I also was eating spoonfulls of cool whip. It's up to you, but I wouldn't eat that on induction.

Unhappy I would stary away from PB

I don't think that one bite will hurt you too much. Don't beat yourself up. Forget about it and move on. Peanut butter is not allowed during intro period. You can add it later, just as long it is surgar free.

I think I was told that peanuts are a legume...and we are supposed to stay away from them...other nut butters such as almond are okay...but I don't think through induction...I am no expert, but I think I heard or read that somewhere....peanut butter also has a lot of sugar in it, which can trigger a craving.

Dr. Atkins says no nuts at all during induction. Once you move on to OWL, you can add them in again. If you use peanut butter, get the natural kind with no sugar added and no hydrogenated oils or transfats.
